I am having to fix this device and his over simplistic video does not come close in fixing this
reel.
1. Trying to locate the end of the thread is problematic and
2. How to the
thread the spool through the slots is not clear at all from his video
As it stands, I have
his device sitting on my desk ( not working) and I am upset over this.
I could totally understand finding the beginning of the thread on the spool can be very frustrating. If you hold the bottom of the Spool in one hand and simply blow across the thread that's wound around it, it will help free up the loose end quite nicely. Once you have the end located simply add a bit of Wax make sure you wrap the thread around the wax ball multiple times and massage the wax balls so the thread envelops inside. Once you have the wax on the thread it'll be much easier for you to place the spool back into the tarantula and guide the thread into the little slot in the center of the top of the gimmick. I'm sure I'm late on this thread to help out Michael but I hope this will help out anybody else that has a similar problem.
