This DVD was very cool. But that's the thing. It was only cool. I didn't like the material really.
It's fairly practical but not as mentalismy as I thought it would be. Keep that in mind
I really want to stress that this isn't as mental as you might think. Some effects are pretty standard, some are basic, some are hard, some look bad. It seems like they were made with MAGIC in mind. The whole magic moves idea comes in. There isn't much that's completely clean looking which took away from the expererience. I don't recommend this if you are planning to learn straight mentalism Did this review help you?

This is a collection of easy-to-do (with practice) effects that are guaranteed to hit hard for
anyone. The reason I gave it a 4 is because of the need of materials and setup.
There are very few tricks that don't require either preparation in advance, or some kind of materials (i.e. pay envelopes, gaffed cards, a blank deck, business cards, bells, a hole punch, a hankercheif and a spoon, and several other items that should be no problem (deck of cards, Sharpie, etc.) There is at least one impromptu effect that I can think of right now, but for the most part, setup is necessary. Granted, some of the setups are "one-time" setups and can be re-used, but I was hoping for more stuff I could do without having to carry around, for example, an already prepared packet of cards marked with sharpie X's on them, everywhere I go. Don't get me wrong, this stuff is very usable, but Jay refers to "going to his 'case' which he says he usually has with him, to switch out envelopes and things. Overall, a good variety of very easy to do material, combined with some of the best teaching and entertaining presentations ever, I recommend it to anyone interested in adding some powerful mentalism to their repertoire. I don't recommend it to those looking for impromptu or street magic, but for intimate close-up venues, this is great for magicians of any skill level. Did this review help you?

This is my 6th and most favorite magic DVD. There are some challenging but extremely powerful
effects and some simple effects. One of these tricks is sold separately on its own DVD. I love the
extremely direct mentalism. The only downside is that a few of the tricks use the exact same move
with a different theme.

This is one of Sankey's best dvds, hands-down. The DVD itself has excellent production value.
Awesome visual cut-scenes, great music, and I love the atmosphere of the places he explains the
material. The material itself is killer stuff. Well-thought out, it is some of the best material
sankey has put on DVD. Also with so many effects explained it is easy to find at least a few things
that will be to your liking. My personal favorite is Mute. Get this and you won't be disappointed.

This DVD is probably one of Jay Sankeys most awesome DVDs.
Because there are so many effects in the DVD for that price that you can't go wrong. There are many varieties of effects that are outstainding. You could literally create a whole show or routine with these effects he supplies with you on the DVD. For only 30$ I would definately pick it up YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG. Once again great Jay Sankey Did this review help you?

This is one of the best DVD's I acquired as a young magician. It helped me transition into "mental
magic" and from there into mentalism. The technique taught in mercurial prediction is worth its
weight in gold. I still use this technique as a mentalist. For those of you wondering what it is,
it's basically Sankey's amazing and well-known, "Paperclipped." This effect alone is worth more
than the price of the DVD. It's almost priceless. If you learned one "move" this year, it should
be the mercurial prediction.
Beyond that amazing effect the DVD is packed with great stuff. Some of it requires a set up or prop that needs to be carried in a brief case, but a good amount is ready to go into anybody's show immediately! Pick it up now. Did this review help you?

Sankey presents a wealth of great effects for the mentalist in his characteristically off-the-wall
way. If you do not already own the materials needed to present these effects, you should be able to
find all of the materials easily at your local craft or office supply store. Sankey uses relatively
direct and simple methods so that you can concentrate on creating a great presentation. Out of the
22 effects on the DVD, I have taken 4 and used them in my performances (Graffiti, Mercurial
Prediction, Symbolic, and Serial Killer). Any one of those effects could have been sold for the
price of the DVD alone, so this DVD is a great value for the money. For me, the one drawback is that
some of the effects are a little too "magic-y" for someone trying to come off as a mentalist. But,
in general, there will be something for everyone (beginner, intermediate, and professional on this
DVD!

This DVD included many great effects. The only one that disappointed me was Locked Room Mystery.
It is a powerful effect as long as the "victim" follows the "psychic's" instructions completely.
Otherwise, the trick is ruined. Jay Sankey is an amazing teacher and the effects are quite simple to
learn and master. I say they are simple, but they are at the same time extremely powerful. Many of
the effects are impromptu, which allows maximum reactions from the audience. Don't be a fool... Add

What a great piece of mentalism! Even if some of the sleights are repeated, he at elast tells you
and lets you know how a new idea is applied! Bravo! Keep it up Sankey.
