I have totally bought 2 of medallions from Penguin, the first one came with a well packed sealed dvd box but a long deep scratch appeared on the gimmicked surface. I am very disappointed, however, as a overseas customer, I don't think it is worth to waste extra money to ship this overpriced item back for any replacement. I have sent email to Penguin and Mystique Factory to complain about the QC problem. At first, Martin from Mystique Factory was so kind to return my email as below :

"Dear Kwong,
I personally checked every single medallion myself. Based on the fact that this is an old trick and was shipped countles times, stored in a warehouse for years etc. It can happen that a piece damage. Of course we want to see you as a satisfied customer so Im more then happy thi ship you a brand new gimmick for completely free of charge.

However, after sending him my shipping address and evidence of my purchase plus several emails. He did not reply me anymore.

Finally, I gave up to contact Martin and just buy a new one.
The second one is much better but just came with a broken dvd box.

Honestly, Medallion is a nice gimmick worth 3 stars or more thus I have decided to buy the second one, especially there is a great discount offered by Penguin, however, I was really dissatisfied by this kind of poor product QC and terrible customer service from Mystique Factory. I would never buy any items produced by this company and Martin again.

I am going to revise my review. I finally received an email from Martin on 15 Oct 2014 and have received my perfect brand new Medallion on 27 Oct 2014. Although I have already bought anohter one, I should need to thank Martin and Mystique Factory.

Effect wise, I love it. It's such a great gimmick to have with you all the time, and takes up zero pocket space. I'll wear mine on my neck.

Three stars because, like another reviewer, mine came with a deep straight scratch all the way across the front of the 8 of spades part of the medallion. It's clearly a manufacturing defect, and not the fault of Penguin or shipping. Luckily it's about half the price that it used to be, otherwise I would be very upset. 5 stars if it didn't come with the scratch.

Yep, it's yet another way of revealing a card, but the reactions have been great: "It's actually engraved!" And "No way, it's changed but it's engraved too!" A little pricey and should come with a chain or a key ring for the most effective use but it looks good, works well and entertains people.
Perhaps one day it'll have the option of buying more reveals, but two in a row is very cool.
