The value of a coincidence depends on its degree of improbability!

A demonstration of intuition and impossible coincidences.

OPUS is a straight forward close up effect, where you will give to your spectator a visual proof of an impossible coincidence.

Four black backed cards are introduced, these cards are given to a spectator who is instructed to mix them freely without looking at the face of the cards; this gives him the chance to put those cards in any order out of 24 possibilities. (4!)

The spectator is now asked to decide the orientation of each card; having the chance to either turn some cards 180 degrees or not; he has now 16 more possibilities!

The spectator is now invited to freely select the position in which those cards are to be placed on the table to form a square; he is given more options and possibilities.

After all the decisions that the spectator has freely taken; and all the possibilities given; now it is time to turn the cards over.

When the black cards are turned over, the spectator realizes that out of all the possibilities that he had; he ended up with the only possibility that makes the 4 pieces shape perfectly the Mona Lisa puzzle that was printed on the face of the cards.

OPUS is also a PREDICTION effect.

A Fifth card is included for you to use it as a prediction.

You don't need to carry or hide many outs. This fifth card is YOUR ONLY OUT. And it will ALWAYS BE A PERFECT ACCURATE PREDICTION.

Tacky Work of Art Report this review

The method is just ok, with too many chances to get caught, in my opinion. The biggest issue I have, however, is that the picture is cut improperly, so there is a missing eye and fingers, with a bit of misalignment and discoloration thrown in for good measure.

When you have an item featuring a famous work of art, and the big moment is only during the reveal at the end, you want it to be clean and neat, and not with an ugly version of the artwork that is very noticeable to the spectator (was to me, anyway).

This is most likely going back.

I will say great quality, the pieces you get (at least for me looking at the other reviews) are sturdy and will last a lifetime.
The problem is this effect has mult outs (not advertised) and lots of memorization on your part for a simple trick. Think days or weeks of work for a 1-2 min trick.
I'm selling it to a magician for $2 because I won't want it to sit my drawer and have him feel as ripped off as I did.

Not that practical for day-to-day use and not repeatable.

This was a waste of time and money because it is IMPOSSIBLE to view the instructions. It supposedly saves, but then disappears and if called up again it does the same thing. I got a refund for it.

I am thoroughly fed up with online instructions that too often are difficult or impossible to access. There is NO trick that requires all the brouhaha a magician showing routines; that is my job. Simple PRINTED instructions are far superior, but I suppose those days are gone. The trouble with these online instructions is the magician demonstrating is in love with himself and yammers forever.

As for Opus, I threw the damned thing out.
