Po-Cheng Lai is one of the top leading magicians in Taiwan. His original fan act "FANtasy" is well known as a unique show because he manipulates different sizes of fans in a creative way. He was awarded 1st prize in Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, and Asia Magic Convention.

He also was the guest performer in FISM 2018 and at other events. Besides performing around the world, he is also a consultant to help professional magicians (producing their TV programs).

The content of this DVD is beautifull. Technics are really pure and nice and they are perfectly explained. Also usefull tips are given as well as tutorial to build fan holder.
Two types of fan are used.
1) what he calls "kung fu fan" which is the format we usually find at magic dealer as "big fan". It is about 35 cm long. It is the good format for butterfly blizzard, for example. And it can be used for fan vanish and production, but in my opinion, the visual aspect of production (and vanish) is much less "clean" than with the second format of fan.
2) the main format that Po-Cheng Lai uses is a 21 cm long fan. I struggled to find any but they can be obtained for about 10 bucks. It is a "chinese" or "japanese" fan made of bamboo or wood. The technics using these smaller fans are really pure and beautiful!
Of course you won't master all the technics at once. You need your fingers to get used to it. But I don't think they are really difficult.

I was excited to see a new hand Fan DVD with brilliant ideas for Hand Fan productions.

This version is more difficult to learn, and a lot depends on speed in execution and correct finger placement, as well as knowing your next move.

I feel that the process will take much longer to learn for most magician.

The next problem is the Hand Fans being used. They have not been available in the U.S. since the 1970's and early 1980's, These us to be very inexpensive and readily available.
