You show the audience a set of various zoo animals on (4" by 6") flash cards. Two spectators stand up in the audience and think of any one of the animals as you show them all of the cards. Picking up a blank card and a felt-tip marker, you attempt to read the minds of the spectators and draw a quick sketch. You place your predictions on a card stand, and for the first time, the spectators call out the animals they selected. You place their selections on the stand next to your sketches, and when the stand is turned around, you have correctly guessed their choices!

I like puns.
Deja Zoo is a great mentalist trick that you can add to your younger ages show. It won't fly with the very young kids, but the 7+ aged kids will follow it and be entertained. It doesn't hit hard till around age 10 though when they can reconstruct the effect properly in their minds and try to figure out how the heck you did that. The trick is basically self working, for those of you wary about getting into mentalism because you're afraid of all the memorization and math... this may be the effect for you. A video demonstration of the trick may be helpful in allowing people to decide... but any magician worth their salt will be able to deconstruct how it's done from the video. Did this review help you?
