Svengali on steroids. Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on October 3rd, 2012
Mirage deck is a Svengali deck on steroids. Imagine what you can do with a Svengali deck that can be spread to show every card different, a svengali deck that can be shuffled by the spectator, and a deck that allows you to do a form of "card to any number" effect. I have a whole three phrase routine using this deck as part of my professional walk around repertoire. It is a very versatile deck and for this price, it is hard not to buy it. It is underpriced for how versatile this deck is. If anyone is familiar with celebrity magician, Lui Chien, from Taiwan, you will actually notice that quite a number of his TV performance make use of this deck. He just gives it a new approach each time and it becomes a killer effect every time round. Think of a Svengali on steriods that can do the things stated above, and you have got yourself one of the most useful decks out there in the market - yet selling at an unbelievable cheap price.

This is basically like a Svengali deck, but you can spread the cards. This allows you to show the spectators that all the cards are different, when infact it does not matter what card they pick, it will always be the one you want.
Its a clever and deceptive force that seems extreamely fair, and I can reccomend it :)

If you are familiar with the svengali deck, you will know exactly how strong that trick plays for laymen. Now take the Svengali deck and put it on STEROIDS. This is what this deck is. With the Svengali deck, you could show all the cards different using a dribbling type motion, but now you can fan out the cards, ribbon spread them, just like a real deck of cards! The increased freedom of motion is liberating and allows you to be very VERY fair about EVERYTHING. In addition, the concept is ingenious. I would say this is a definite improvement on the Svengali deck. This does everything the Svengali deck does in a more apparently FAIR way. Great. My highest recommendation

This is crazy! Though I no longer use this deck it was one of my favs when I did! Such a genius alternative to your average Svengali and looks way more natural! You can even spread through the cards face up! If you like a Svengali deck you will love this one! A lot less detectable to a laymen and so many possibilities with this!

I, like many others, got a Svengali deck, played with it a short time, and threw it in the drawer because of it's limitations. One of the biggest problems with the Svengali deck is the un-natural nature of the displays; that is, showing the cards "normal" or "all the same". It requires riffling one end of the deck quickly while the spectator watches the cards go by. When was the last time you proved the normality of a regular deck by doing that?
Now what if you had a Svengali deck that could be casually spread hand to hand with the cards face up, just like you would with a regular deck? How about a card force that APPEARS TO THE SPECTATOR to be every bit as fair as a classic force? Or an effortless dribble force? Or just ribbon spread the cards on the table and have them touch one - and the card is forced.
All the usual Svengali effects are possible: forces, impossible-looking sleight of hand, predictions, mindreading. Even the "show all the cards the same" aspect is infinitely more visual - dribble the cards from one hand to another, showing they're all the same, then immediately spread the cards (like a face up classic force) to show all the cards different. (But a little tip - don't do it unless you want to let the audience know its a trick deck. Otherwise, they'll never guess in a million years.)
Better than Svengali deck Report this review

If you have a Svengali deck you know that in order to show a spectator that the deck is a "normal" deck, you have to riffle the deck when you show the cards. You can't show the cards using a spread or the gimmick will be revealed. But with a Mirage deck you can spread the cards to show that the deck is "normal"...awesome! So, if you like the Svengali deck, you will like the Mirage deck even more since it let's you spread the cards to prove it is a "normal" deck.

I just got this deck and it's nice. In fact the way it works wasn't a surprize for me. I had the classical SVEN deck and i just thought of a way the make the cards so that i will be able to spread the deck in a normal way. then i saw this deck and thought - yeah here it is.
the only down side to it is that it could be in a SVEN quality. That would be then full 5 star.
But overall it is nice deck

I have used these for years and have never gotten caught using a gimmicked deck. Do a simple deck switch after using a normal deck for a few and then do this as a final illusion. My deck was getting worn and needed replacing. The bad thing is that you cant request a force card or know what is in the pack. I ordered several pairs of these and have gotten lucky with 3 of the 4 being different cards so you can mix it up if your with a usual crowd.

PERFECT card force. Imagine spreading the deck showing every card different. The spectator touches the back of the card, and takes it. You then know EXACTLY what card it is! Imagine the possibilities! Mentalism, Mind Reading, Svengali routines, convincing Ambitious Card routines, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
