This DVD was released almost 5 years ago and the material still holds true.
Commercial routines jam packed with good presentations. Apart from the effects and pro tips from Matthew, you get to see a real worker in action. How he handles the spectators is a lesson in its own. There's even a shot with a slightly rowdy all male bunch, and Matthew handles it like a pro. For a walk around worker, this is probably one of the best investments you can get. I can't say enough about this 2-DVD set! Fantastic comedy, performed before actual spectators in a
bar/restaurant, and these are the type of effects that you WILL use. For me, his repeated card to
pocket routine is worth the price of the set. Plus, he's the type of guy that you would want to
entertain at your party. Lots of charm, gags, and solid sleights. Unlike many other DVDs, he
actually has a section where he goes into detail about all the sleights used, instead of merely
saying: "Well, use your favorite method!"

I wasn't sure about purchasing this, since the whole "party animal" thing was too much. But WOW
IT'S FANTASTIC! Everything is done at a noisy bar, so you get to see live reactions and effect
subtleties.
I've probably watched this entire DVD set 11+ times, every trick is great, and you'll want to learn them all. Rarely have I seen a set with THIS MUCH commercial material on it. You could seriously take the contents out to a corporate gig, and do them all with great success. Many of the effects are remakes of classics (waltz, Chicago opener), but Dowden does such a remarkable job of re-working them with updates. Plus he's got additional tricks like MST which are again ... AMAZING. Add in the sleights he shows, and you have a pure win for $40. If you're into card magic, you'll instantly fall in love with both his performance style and ideas. Few card compilations are this entertaining to watch. Buy it. Did this review help you?
I like this DVD because the focus is on walkaround magic, so its all about magic that is easy to
carry and yet still hits hard. The effects are pretty decent, the anniversary waltz being my
favourite, and the teaching is clear and thorough.

This is a fantastic DVD set! Matthew Dowden is an awesome performer and he really knows how to
entertain a crowd. The routines on this DVD are very strong easily adaptable to suit your
presentation style. A couple of my favorite efefcts on this DVD include:
1. Walk Around Waltz This is a great version of the Anniversary Waltz, and can be used in walk-around performances. I wasn't sure how strong this was going to be, but when I tried it out on people, they freaked out. This goes over very well. 2. X Marks the Spot Matthew's presentation on an old classic is very clever and entertaining. This is a very practical routine to do in walk-around settings and it plays very strong. This is an awesome DVD set. Matthew's presentational skills are exceptional! I highly recommend this! Did this review help you?
