Synergy (Instant Download) - This trick is 100% completely impromptu. There's no setup, you can use any deck at all, the spectator can shuffle it as much as they want, and the deck doesn't even have to be a full deck.
The Effect The spectator shuffles the deck and cuts it into two piles.
The spectator gets a free choice of the two piles... whichever one the spectator picks is the one used...
Using the chosen pile, the magician offers the spectator a look at the cards one-by-one. Without tipping off the magician, the spectator thinks of a card and notes its position.
Now, the other pile is spread out and the spectator is instructed to push out any card from that pile. Without looking at this selection it is placed in the magician's pocket. We don't know which card the second card is, but we know it cannot possibly be the first selection because it is from an entirely different pile.
The spectator names the originally selected card. Magically it has vanished from its place in it's pile and has jumped to the magician's pocket.

This is another great impromptu trick that is based on a very very old principle. Because the spectators card is sitting on the table in front of them, they will never catch the move. Not only is this trick somewhat mentalism, it also packs the magical aspect of a card change and transportation. The trick is very basic and is good for beginners. I used to do this trick a long time ago and it always gave good reactions. Pick this up and you'll be glad you did.

Good Learning Trick
[Verified buyer] by Peter Gilmore from Wollongong, NSW Australia on 04/03/2010 05:12:32
One of the toughest things for new magicians is believing that people will believe you. The art of misdirection is often assumed knowledge and I think that a lot of magicians believe that everyone understands how to work with the off-beats. Oz, like always, walks us through the fine art of over-coming the fear of the "heat" and confidently performing this clever routine.
I love the routine and it's got a nice, if not predictable, punchline. What I think I love more is that performing this trick for live audiences made me a better magician. It gave me the confidence to believe that I could craft simple misdirection for the cover I needed.
Overall the skill level required for this trick is primarily a showmanship issue. Definitely good for those that have performed a few tricks and are looking for something new.

Amazing trick if people would count
[Verified buyer] by Ben Snodgrass from Austin, TX USA on 04/02/2010 17:58:00
Hey y'all,
This was one of the first tricks I purchased when I started magic. I learned it easily and preformed it without hitch numerous times.
Pros:
1. Even a beginner can lean it. If you are a beginner put the time into mastering it and you will get a lot of mileage out of it.
2. Great for anyone! Even more advanced magicians.
Cons:
1. Can people count? Seriously....People have a hard time understanding what the 'position of their card' is. Maybe its just me, but they can't seem to remember two things.
Story: I once preformed the trick for my Uncle. I told him to memorize the card and then remember the position. He accidentally memorized the wrong position and threw the trick completely off. Once I got to the reveal it was a complete different card from his...
Tip: If you have two spectators have both memorize the card and position. That way if one messes up then the other will have it.
Wow factor of 1-5 (1=terrible, 5=terrific) I give it a 3.5. People say 'wow, how did you do that, that's amazing.'
The price is right, the reactions are right. Get it!

Best Impromptu Card Trick
[Verified buyer] by Josh from Fort Lauderdale, FL USA on 11/05/2007 19:52:26
This is my second most requested trick, just after STS. You cannot go wrong buying this. I go so far as to say you WILL use it in you card routine. You can do it with absolutely any deck, even if it is missing cards. The best part about this trick is you can use parts of it to do different endings, or throw it into other tricks you have.
I dare say this is the best value for a trick that I have ever seen. If you even think you might want it. Get it now. You will not be disappointed. The reactions are great, and it requires very little sleight of hand. If this is your first trick, it teaches a few great fundamentals that you will use for the rest of your magic career.
I will warn you right now: Do not use this trick if you don't want people screaming curses and running in fear.
