If you're a fan of close up magic this is pretty much a must have. The effects you can do really hit home. I had one for 5 years before having to replace it.
The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star review is the shell nickel is comes with wasn't the same as the mini-nickel also included. The shell was a new nickel (with the new face) and the mini one was an old nickel.

so i must say i love this effect. i bought this years and years ago, one of the only tricks i own i didn't get from penguin, but i was at my local magic shop and the owner recommended this to me. i live in canada and for once it is an advantage for a trick, our coins are different up here and don't require special gimmicks to make it work. highly recommend it, especially to canadians, self working and hits hard. even if i needed to practice a little more with other countries coins i would gladly just because of the jaw droppin reactions you will get.

Raven used to be something I used on occassion. It's been shelved for years now. I wouldn't go as far as to say I don't recommend it, but its something that I think the cons outweigh the pros.
-The trick has been exposed on television and is widely exposed over the internet. It's one of those tricks, because of David Blaine's popularity for a time, that is just easily exposed all over the place.
- This trick requires some setup and will not work in all conditions. You will need to dress particularly in order to have success with this trick. So it loses practicality points because of that.
- The trick requires special gimmicks in addition to the Raven itself to work properly.
- The affect can be troublesome or even dangerous if held near certain everyday items. I've had my fair share of extreme frustration due to negative things that have happened out of my own control due to the Raven.
All in all, its a cool effect but the cons are substantial. There are a lot of things you can do with Raven, from disappearances, to transformations, to PK effects...but it comes at a cost. If you are interested in the effect and willing to sacrifice practicality and ease for the effects, by all means do it. It's just not something I'm willing to do anymore.

People are floored when this is presented properly. The materials are top quality. Create a presentation goes a long way. Beginners will need to practice a great deal to master the handling and attachment.

Okay now don't get me wrong, here goes, this is absolutely brilliant and super clean and... AMAZING haha! but the thing is it isn't for everyone and it wasn't for me. It was because the way I dress and being young, my performing style did not really suit this. But I think in the right hands this could be one of the strongest effects in your routine!
