This is a utility item with a lot of great possibilities. The only shortcoming, in my mind, is that
the fabrication of the gimmick is left up to us. It's a simple matter to do, but for the money, it
should have been done by the seller.
That being said, it's a great gimmick that can help
you do a lot of near miracles, so long as you know you have an arts and crafts project ahead of you
when you buy it (an easy one, but still). Go beyond the usual effects that are possible with this,
and you'll have a winner!

I will start with the good. This device works great once you build it (that's right you have to
build it). It fools everyone I have used it on and I use it on a regular basis while street
performing on Fremont in Vegas. It gets an awesome reaction.
The only downside is you
have to build the device and it is not easy to do. Took me a couple of hours and multiple attempts
to get it just right. I wish they had charged double and sent it out complete.
opinion it is worth $80.00 sent out complete. If it had come assembled I would have given it a 5

Great concept but got to agree with many other comments; the gimmick should come pre-installed. For
me there wasn't quite enough tape and installation can be tricky. And agree, it won't pass
inspection. My bigger issue, though, is the noise. Depending on the choice of item you plan to
switch out, the gimmick can make quite a bit of sound. Squeezing softly reduces the problem, but
runs the risk of an incomplete vanish.

This style of the Ostin clip is the best version on the market.

This is more of a personal message to Chris than anything. I'm so grateful that this piece has been
released by you. The workings, the details the way it's displayed, shows that you have been working
with this for years.
I kind of like that there is a bit of DIY in it. It prevents the
hobbyists from just taking this "easy to do" gimmick and performing it right away.
takes practice, scripting, and rehearsing and now that I've invested the time to play with the
gimmick, it works perfectly for me.
for those reviews that say the gimmick doesn't work
every single time, all I can say is that you had put it together "backwards".
This is an outstanding effect and the gimmick is extremely clever and very well made, however, I
have a word of caution. I cannot use this the way I had imagined. This is due to a wrong assumption
I made but I want to offer a word of caution in case you are thinking the same thing I was thinking.
When I saw the video I saw a dollar bill folded in front of a spectator and then placed in
the clip. That is the dollar bill that gets switched out. I wrongly assumed that I could have a
borrowed spectator's bill folded and inserted in the clip for a switch. But you cannot do that.
The bill that goes into the clip has to be prepared in a certain manner before hand. So I
couldn't use it for the purpose in which I bought it. So just be aware of this.
said, now that I have it I will utilized it in the way Chris describes in his performance. For that
purpose it is still an extremely powerful effect. I only gave it 4 stars because it didn't mention
anywhere about this limitation.
I love this!!! What a great item! It really does work as well as it looks. Perfect for Card to
Impossible Location, the location being a card that has been clipped and hanging in full view the
entire time. This prop will allow you to switch one folded card for another (or any folded paper
item) and you can show your hands empty afterwards. And you NEVER have to touch the card! It's as
clean as it could be. Totally worth the purchase!
Perhaps, the final answer in Ostin clips for the working professional. Advantages include being able
to show the clip empty beforehand. Also, the ability to show the (bill, card, prediction) in its
unfolded state before folding and inserting it into the clip. Nothing to ever break or wear out and
fail you during performance which makes this the ultimate rendition in my professional opinion.
Comes very highly recommended!
I've worked with a variety of switching clips, the Executive Clip by Chris Funk is the best. There
is no elastic to break. It is easy to switch the gimmick to new items without disassembly. There is
no degrading the switch through use. You can literally put the item into the clip during the
performance, if you choose. And the speed of the switch exceeds all other clips. I've used them all
for a billet switch at the end of my act which is a call back to something earlier in the show. With
the Executive Clip, I can add the billet to the clip early in the show, which adds the extra punch
when what is written on it is revealed at the end. It is truly the Ostin Clip to an all new level.
