I've seen other versions of this trick and it's famously performed by David Copperfield but this one is my favorite because the performer can show all sides of every panel which makes the illusion very deceptive. The box is also easy to operate. My 10-year-old son used it very effectively in his school talent show. Penguin Magic's price is also a pretty good value for this stage-worthy illusion.

The box is very flexible. It's typically used to vanish something but we used it to produce a stuffed animal. It could also be used to transform an object. I'm sure I'll find plenty of uses for this box and I've already decided to add a gimmicked table for next time to make the illusion even more deceptive.

The build quality was less than perfect. It arrived smelling of varnish as if it was painted minutes before it was packed. There was also a mosquito stuck in the paint. I was also unhappy with how the gimmick was attached to the box. I took some hinges apart and replaced some strings to improve the performance and better conceal the gimmick. I wouldn't have used it right out of the box.

However, after these minor adjustments and a bit of extra drying, the Night Club Dove Vanish became a staring addition to my son's 3-minute act. I highly recommend it.
