From the archives of Blaine Harris, we present the Asylum Wrist Restraint (Yes. It's the same Blaine Harris some of you may remember from Premier 75 Magic Studio back in 1975). The Asylum Wrist Restraint is completely examinable and can be used as a feature escape or as part of a larger effect (Sub Trunk, Torture Board, Spirit Cabinet, Packing Crate, etc.).

Based on a very old principle, this new version has some improvements that make it easier and more fool-proof than its predecessors. This restraint is 100% hand-made by Blaine and is designed for years of tough service. The leather is thick top-quality American Latigo Cowhide.

The performer's wrists are bound as tightly as possible by an audience member yet release is instantaneous and completely under the control of the performer. The wrist restraint has a new added feature in a buckle that can receive a padlock making it look really impossible! The lock can even be sealed for extra effect. The restraint is ungimmicked and no extra keys or special hidden equipment necessary. It may even be placed on an audience member proving escape impossible.

7 page color instruction booklet with photos by my good friend Allen Zingg. These instructions contain valuable tips and suggestions for performances as well as "how-to!"

I think they should have made a video or a download. Because this way you could see how it is put on in real time. I paper does not do it for me.

Ipurchased mr. harris' asylum wrist restraint because of its authentic look....years ago my friends dad worked at the elgin
il. state mental hospital as a transport aide .they used a very simular restraint to move patients from one sector to another , for protection of the patient,them selves and others
this trick works perfect...i have since combined the trick w/
joe monte's thumb escape routine and anthony lindains suit jacket escape....overkill ?...nope combineing the gaffs gives me about 10 full min. of comedy that kills ...i perform professionally for a very conservitive and usually stoic crowd, the church/ religious community...they love what we have put together. we purchase 90% of all props from penguin, never have we been disapointed with the material or the service rendered...to be a working magi these days you have got to think out of the box...we took months and lot's of money to come up with a idea to make us marketable....we've went from performing to 25-50 people to performing before hundreds at a time...thanks to the constant sources that penguin provides ...the raw material

The Asylum Wrist Restraint by Blaine Harris is a quality piece of escape gear. Everything about the restraint itself is top quality from the leather down to the metal hardware. The only think that's lacking is the lock, but I'm sure most would buy their own lock - which I planned on doing anyway.

I perform it as a legitimate release although you can go the comedy "thumb tie" route with this if you choose to do so.
