(This review is for Shock FX video Andrew Mayne)

This is a GREAT VHS (I am reviewing the VHS because that is the version I have, although I don't think the DVD one is any different). This is FULL of exciting effects with COOL methods; geek effects mostly but some that are just... AMAZING. 13 effects total and SO worth the money.

The highlights of this for me were...

1) Bowling:

This is the trick that Andrew's new DVD, FreeFall (also reviewed on here by me) is ALL about. I LOVE this effect, and this is a great way to see the early stages of it. I love this, and if you like the concept, you should pick up FreeFall. Just a GREAT DVD concerning this, other methods and routines and of course all the things he has learned over the years.

2) Pencil Thru Cheek:

This is a REALLY convincing geek effect that is pretty much practical for anywhere. Anywhere you have a pencil, you are set. Great effect!

3) PaperClip Thru Arm:

GREAT way of doing this; all the materials FIT IN YOUR WALLET! No more impracticallity.

Although ALL of this stuff is great, those are the ones that stood out. Most of this is suitable for a stage, close-up OR parlour show. I REALLY love this VHS.

In addition, it is high quality, which is a nice bonus and ALL the routines are explained INCREDIBLY well.

ONE thing I do want to point out about this VHS though (and this will ONLY matter to people who are OCD like me) is that he doesn't talk like he does now... Let me explain.

Any of Andrew Mayne's new stuff is crazy; he talks WITHOUT messing up any words, pausing, stuttering OR saying the words UM, LIKE, You KNOW... Stuff like that. It is crazy. In a lecture he talks for 45 minutes without any of that. He knows what he is going to say (ALWAYS) before he says it and it is AMAZING.

However, this was back BEFORE he took all those speech classes (haha). He really talks like a human here, which is odd (Considering the Title) but not a problem for learning at all. Just interesting for a HUGE Andrew fan like myself.

Great VHS, you WON'T regret buying it!
