This rope is good, but I would recommend spending a little more and buying the Camirand rope. The Camirand is made better. This rope isn’t bad though. I do use it for my Fiber Optics one rope routine as well as a cut and restored rope (from Darwin’s Thumb Tip DVD). For cut and restored it is great. Take the core out of the middle and it easily fits in a thumb tip.

I got the rope on sale and though maybe not the best quality you can buy it was worth the price. It does the job.

I bought this length of soft off-white rope expecting to receive an item distributed by Penguin with - at least -minimum quality control.

The length of rope I received was indeed 25 feet. Yet, in this length there were approximately 15 splits/holes.

I have seen other pieces of Uday rope with splits and holes - maybe it is good for practice...

I have subsequently bought 'Elite' Camirand rope - made in Europe from another magic supplier. I will be asking Penguin for my money back.

Definitely not a good purchase/supplier if you take your rope magic or magic item purchasing seriousely...as I do...I was hoping Penguin shared this approach to purchasing, yet no such thing...on this occasion.

This is a soft cotton rope. Uday's rope is manufacturered within an industry in a country, India, where quality control is basic/low. The length of rope I bought had a 0.5cm long split in it !...the outer fabric was split... the core was beginning to bulge out.

This is Penguin's fault - Penguin re-pack 25' lengths from 300'-500' spools they purchase from Uday. The folk at Penguin missed this defect when they re-packaged the rope they sent to me.

Uday's rope is cheaper because less material is made... the fabric is thinner. You 'trade off' quality for price. I use Uday only as practice rope. I would never use it in performance.

Also, I am learning/practising the Tabary routines and find the Uday rope is too light, too flimsy for the sort of handling required for Tabary's routines.

It is not as nice as the Elite stuff, but for everyday rope that hangs nicely and has a good price, I like it! The price is great and it works well for my version of Sander's 3 Ropes & a Baby!
