Whenever John or David come out with new stuff, I usually jump right on it. This is no exception.
What is offered here are some wonderful ideas, tips on handling and different methods of vanishing
and revealing the cards in this time proven card act. McDonald Aces is really not a card "trick". I
consider it to be one of the most surprising Ace assemblies that can be performed. I'm sure that
magicians that are familiar with McDonald's Aces are scarfing this one up. If you are not familiar
with this amazing card routine or are just beginning your journey into magic, get this. Then, after
you have become knowledgeable of the moves and the choreography of the effect, you will have
something that you will always be proud to perform. It's also very easy to do! And the fact that it
comes with a fresh set of the required cards and a groovy little wallet makes this a no-brainer. Get
this, you won't be sorry.

I gave it four stars, not because of the trick, it's great, and I know the people that worked on it
did a great job. The instructions are excellent, the packaging is amazing.... So why four stars, the
price and what you get. I personally don't care about the box or the wallet you get with your
purchase. If that was left out there maybe ten dollars worth of trick, and that's generous. I get it
the time and energy it takes sould count, but come on, a couple double facers, and a few court cards
doesn't justify the cost, seems more was put into the packaging and extra wallet then the trick. I'm
not disappointed and glad I bought it, and would recommend it, seems the cost with out the fluff
should have been half what I paid.

I am not a professional magician and my sleight of hand ability is just OK.
There are a
number of different moves that make up Picturesque, but no single sleight that I could not do with
just a couple of attempts after viewing the instructions. The method is clearly taught and the
variation and bonus stuff is a nice plus.
I found the most difficult part of getting the
performance down was remembering and putting all the steps together…but that’s why we practice,
practice, practice.

I really liked the visual of court cards within the context of McDonald’s Aces, so I picked this up,
knowing exactly what I was getting, and I’m not disappointed. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5
has to do with the teaching. While thorough, I could see it as being quite hurried for a novice. If
you haven’t played with McDonald’s Aces before or the core method, you’re probably going to have to
backtrack the video a few times to pick up on what’s going on. I felt the same about Regal’s Letter
Perfect, so maybe that’s a conscious choice he makes with his work or just a personality thing —
it’s a bit rushed. The other frustrating thing is that there’s a microphone and mic stand right in
the middle of the action throughout most of the training. That really should have been on a boom
stand out of frame. This product is a somewhat premium price point in terms of the gimmicks, and I
don’t think the framing of the tutorial quite lives up to the price point.
However, the
moves are delightful. I especially like the switch at the outset and all of the different vanish
choices. There are some interesting ideas to play with, especially cause I’ve never been a fan of
“look, it turned face down… look again, it changed” in McDonald’s Aces. I always found the turning
facedown part really odd and incongruent with the simplicity of the plot. The extra vanishes give
you a lot of value here. The wine glass routine is also really nice! It’s not quite as beautiful as
the table displays with the wonderful subtleties to (apparently) show all the backs, but I could see
a lot of people really latching onto the wine glass version of the routine.
All in all, I
think most people would be happy with their purchase of this routine. I definitely didn’t need
another packet trick wallet, but I would have paid this price for just the 6 gaffs that you can’t
get elsewhere plus the training. It would be nice if they offered replacement gaffs at a discount
cause when these get scrubby, it’s going to be hard to justify full price again. If replacements
aren’t offered, I’ll probably get my own printed, even if that means having to change the Ace of
Spades to a non-Bicycle design.

I love this trick. It a blast to perform and I love the reaction form others. And it is not
difficult to learn either, although I put in the time to do it well. There are no difficult moves
and if you follow the tutorial carefully, you'll crush this every time. I actually purchased two of
these because I wanted one for practice. Everything that is included is very high quality and there
are extra cards to do alternative routines.
If you have time on your hands to learn this method and its handlings (which are not that difficult)
and have confidence in performing it, you can really do some REAL MAGIC.
5 stars easy...
One of the strongest card magic tricks I've performed. Thank You John and David and the team at
Penguin Magic!
The most elegant effect I have come across. Still Practicing this lovely item.
