ANY CARD AT YOUR FINGERTIPS AS FAST AS LIGHTNING.

"Ferrari don't make playing card indexes, but if they did, they'd have created DEX."

In layman's terms, a Card Index is like a Rolodex for a deck of cards that secretly hides in one or multiple pockets. It gives the magician the ability to secretly retrieve a named playing card and "magically" reveal the card "from thin air" (or any other way they wish).

There are tons of indexes on the market but DEX breaks away from the race and stands in a league of its own and here's why.

Normally an index will have one or two great features but crucially at a cost...E.g. It's easy to use, but bulky. Or it's ultra fast but split into two pockets. Etc.

DEX is unique in that it takes all of the important features that magicians look for in an index and combines them into one...without compromise.

DEX is a full 52 card index that not only is lightning quick but it's also designed to be razor thin so that it can easily and seamlessly fit into skinny jean pockets. Its intelligent form factor means that it appears to be an ordinary, small, wallet.

But there's more.

No more fumbling around. The entire core of the DEX system revolves around a unique "no counting" system that means from the moment the spectator names a playing card, the magician has already instantly located the value of the card in their pocket. Meaning that you're able to be fully focused and present in your performance, instead of zoning out while you fumble around in your pockets. It's designed to work using your muscle memory.

Right now, take a moment...Think of a card and say it in your mind. The time it took you to read that sentence, follow the instruction and lock a card in is genuinely longer than it takes to find any card in DEX. REALLY.

Created by Lloyd Barnes and Javier Fuenmayor, DEX has been painstakingly designed and refined for over two years (Apologies to the 10's of thousands of people that have been following DEX production journey on YouTube for that whole time!), and together they've left no stone left unturned. From its durable nature, clever touches that give DEX its wallet silhouette form factor, flexibility, thin nature and even lightweight construction.

Every single DEX unit is meticulously assembled by hand and is constructed using a range of different materials that all seamlessly blend together to give you the world's most powerful and more importantly, practical playing card index ever created.

ONE MORE THING...

When you become a DEX owner, you're not just receiving the world's most sought after index, you'll also be receiving access to the most thorough index masterclass ever taught, with revolutionary never before seen tuition methods included.

We've split the DEX Masterclass into 5 primary volumes:

Volume 1: DEX Crash Course
Lloyd and Javier teach you every single detail, including all of their devious tips and tricks, that you need to know in order to become a DEX Ninja. By the time you've watched this through, you'll be pulling named cards from DEX quicker than you add kisses to a text message.

Volume 2: Card Tricks
This is our favorite volume. Lloyd and Javier are both known for being creative juggernauts and you'll understand why after watching Volume 2. Not only will they teach you how to perform some incredible tricks, they'll also teach you how to take some of the best card tricks of all time and make them even better! Imagine performing the Invisible Deck...without a fully gimmicked rough and smooth deck where the deck is fully examinable!

Volume 3: Not A Card Index?!
Due to DEX's unique design, it means that not only can any deck of cards fit within...but you can also use other objects such as envelopes, billets, Tarot cards and more. This section they'll teach you how to perform tricks that fool even the smartest magicians because they never knew you could use an index with some of these objects.

Volume 4: Collaborations
A small number of DEX units found their way into the hands of some incredible magic creators (Andrew Neiner, Jake Keane, Eric Stevens)and those guys came up with some truly creative ways to really turn DEX's volume up to 11. We know that some of you will love this volume the most.

Volume 5: Get The Most Out Of Dex
Lloyd and Javier have spent 1,000's of hours practicing and testing each other over video calls from opposite sides of the planet and whilst doing that, they discovered some MIND BLOWING practice techniques that literally trick your brain and fingers into becoming a master at using DEX in the blink of an eye. Without describing the technique here, it's like one of those optical illusions where you stare at it for 30 seconds and suddenly you can see the face of Einstein...only this is for DEX. You can even take this new concept and apply to any other magic skills you want to sharpen, it's that good!

TL;DR

The Tool:
• 52 cards. One pocket. Even skinny jeans.
• Lightening fast.
• No counting.
• Lightweight. Thin. flexible.
• Rests easily in seconds.
• Easy to master.
• 1,000 tricks in your pocket.

Just some of our favorite tricks taught:

UVD:
A single blank card is placed in their hands. They name any card...a UV light is shone on the blank card and reveals the named card written on it.

Invisible DEX:
Invisible Deck is often voted by magicians as the best trick of all time. Period. But it does have a fatal flaw...the deck can't be examined in any way by the audience. With DEX, they can even keep the deck!

NO SKILL NEEDED:
Imagine this. Any card is freely named, then in any location the named card is revealed...with NO PALMING AT ALL! - This trick was created originally for beginners but the effect and method is so ******* powerful and clever, we know for a fact that even pro's will be using this. It's the type of trick that makes both laymen and magicians do a chef's kiss!

JOKERS:
A joker is taken out of the deck and placed to the side. Any card is named, the participant deals down and doesn't find their card. They find...a joker. In fact, every single card in the deck is a joker...all except for one card that was removed earlier which is somehow their freely named card. Everything is100% examinable.

INVISIBLE BRAIN BLIZZARD:
This may be single handedly the most powerful card trick ever created. This is exactly what happens...A deck is in full view. Any card is named. The deck is spread...that card is the only face up card. Not only that, it's the only odd backed card in the deck. And not only that...EVERY OTHER CARD IN THE DECK IS BLANK.

Normally this type of trick would be partially achievable with one or two unexaminable gimmicked decks and some decks switches. With DEX, there is just ONE easy and invisible "move"(that you probably already do) and the entire effect is finished method wise...before you even make the first reveal. And to top it off, EVERYTHING IS FULLY EXAMINABLE. It's actually hard to fathom just how truly impossible this effect is.
#PrayersForYourAudience

-----

All of the above and so much more.

Heck, we even know one person who's been road testing DEX that uses it as their only EDC. They naturally take it with them anywhere and they're always ready to make any named card instantly appear anywhere. Anytime.

We believe there are two types of card magic; The type of card tricks that are in the realm of plausibility. Card tricks that can be achieved using math or quick sleight of hand...

And then there's Magic. The type of tricks that have no explanation.

DEX IS that difference.

Anyone can practice to perform tricks but a Magician creates Magic effortlessly.

Received my DEX today. First, let me qualify myself with indexes and at the same time give you my bias. Well, that's entertaining right there.

I have been messing with indexes for longer than some of you have been alive. I created my own index for the purpose of one trick. That trick was to have somebody freely name a card and then within seconds pull that card from mid air. I still perform that regularly in my walk around gigs.

I can retrieve "any" card from my index within 3 to 5 seconds, remove it in palm, transfer to backpalm and voila - out of thin air - your chosen card.

That's my bias - I think I have the best index available. This is not a sales pitch, because I don't sell my index. In fact I posted it freely in the cafe last February to anyone who wanted to give it a go. I haven't fully shared all of my tweaks, but the ground work is all you need to understand there can't be a whole lot better out there. At least that's my opinion.

On to DEX. Upon opening you will discover a very underwhelming looking utility device. You know this from the start if you had a chance to view some of the video early that accompanies DEX. Lloyd and Javier both say that the end result does not justify the amount of effort they put into this project. I agree, they came at this thing hard, but at the end sacrificed beauty for workability.

I wanted to like this, I really did. I'm an index junkie, and have purchased most of them out there, and made dozens of my own variations. And with all the hype and delays on this thing, I expected gold!

The concept here is a good one, and the video they put out with it is top of the line stuff...but that's all I got!

The actual product doesn't look very healthy. From prototype to finish looks like a lot of wasted time, because they eventually just took some packet trick wallets (the cheap vinyl ones), and glued them all together.

People are already complaining about the thing coming apart in various places, and mostly at the bottom. I put 48 cards in it, and I was nervous. I honestly cannot imagine somebody using this on a regular basis , and not having it fall apart. In and out of your pocket, jamming your fingers in tight spots to pull cards from cheap vinyl - what do you think will happen?

Don't get me completely wrong here. I believe both Javier and Lloyd are two very great minds in our business. They both are kind, giving, smart, funny, and just plain good and solid for the world of magic.

But this one just ain't movin me, and I can't justify a $75 price tag on what you're getting here in product.

The video material here is worth way more than the physical index.

I also think they had to qualify just gluing vinyl wallets together, so to me it appears they are trying to make you think in the videos that the final stages of their intense work on this project was to measure pieces, line them up in precise places, then hand assemble them with the perfect "soft" glue to give us the perfect finished product.

Nahhhh... they took vinyl packet trick wallets and glued them together.

I gave it 2 stars because they do give you a lot of ideas and routines using an index.

But $75 for a half dozen vinyl packet wallets glued together in a Hoolywood tin package - nope!

100% my favorite pocket index! Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 18th, 2023
I use a pocket index every time I perform. I've used quite a few, and without a shadow of a doubt, DEX is the best. It is the thinnest, lightest, and quickest I have ever seen, let alone use. You can use playing cards, billets, and even folded paper. If you pre-fold the cards you can use them with tricks that use MCF cards. The tutorial is a MASTERCLASS on all things index, so even if you own an index, I would HIGHLY recommend picking DEX up. There is a small learning curve, but once you learn the system it is unmatched. I have been using DEX for a few months now and have been very pleased with every aspect of it.

The Best Index Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 18th, 2023
This is incredible. I got this early to review on my channel: @BlakeAleongMagic, but I really do love it. It gets incredible reactions, and I think it's one of, if not the best index ever created. It is lightning fast, and easy to operate. It should last you a very long time. Angles aren't always perfect, as you need to cop cards, but this gets crazy reactions! I love the mercury card folded named card! It is insane. This is the best index.

WHAT A BRILLIANT DEVICE Report this review

As somebody who contributed to the project, it was an honor to have Javier ask me if I wanted to test drive DEX. I have used a number of systems, some of them good, all of them with flaws. As Andrew mentioned in his review, there is a bit of a learning curve but once you have it down there is SO much that you can achieve with it. I am proud to be involved in this and all I can say is that if you want to up your game, stop thinking and start buying.

Overhyped and falling apart Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on October 6th, 2023
I have been waiting almost 2 years for this and I purchased this the very first day it was released. I already had the Cheetah index as well as a few other leather ones by quiver.

I am mostly to blame because I had a feeling that this was not going to be as described by the ad copy, I received this in 2 days from Penguin so there was no problem on penguins behalf and when I got the index I was fine with how it looked, I watched the 7+ hour Tutorial that is on YouTube and began to set it up.

Without exposing anything there was a feature that I liked and it had potential because it allowed the cards to bevel making it fairly simple to riffle but the problem was the 2 sides were not mirrored as they should have been which concerned me because I didn’t want to take mine apart and rebuild it, $75.00 is a lot of money for what you get so I tried hard to make it work, I practiced every day and at best after a week I was only hitting 50% but the real issue was that the Index began to fall apart, not just the bottom but even the sides were splitting and I was not even going for speed. Only accuracy.

My Biggest problem is the Ad Copy which was totally deceptive.
1. If Lamborghini created an index it would be dex, This is very false because this is just a bunch of packet holders glued together with what appears to be a very cheap.
2. This is not as slim as they would have you believe and it is awkward whether you wear skinny jeans or loose pockets.

The most infuriating thing was when Lloyd and Javier said on the instructional video that “We made this for Us” referring to themselves as if it wasn’t meant for the average guy. I will never buy the hype again, this will be the last time I ever buy something without seeing the product first.

Great idea, extremely poor construction quality Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 27th, 2023
Seeing a lot of folks try to downplay the build quality of Dex, but I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones.

The soft glue that's used in the gimmick has basically started just coming apart while Dex lays on my desk. I've used it maybe 4 times to see what it's like, and since then it's been on my desk. Took a look today and it's already started to split apart in the middle of the index, not the bottom as stated in the tutorial.

Tutorial wise, this is great, but the index is not of good quality.

This is an easy and difficult review.
To start, the item itself is no secret as to the gimmick, as it has been very upfront as to what it is and what it does. It’s quite comical to read critique from people who don’t even own it! It is not something new and there are multiple versions. If it’s not your thing it’s not your thing! I went for it because I was hopeful of a more innovative and streamlined version, and when it comes to the creators, I was definitely highly interested in their unique thinking and routines which is where the strength of this project comes into play.
The design of the gimmick went through multiple design changes and why it took so long to get released. The design is excellent and with practice you’ll be getting some reactions like Javier and Lloyd. You will love this project if you like your creative juices flowing and it shows in the footage how many ideas popped up in the middle of filming.
My only gripe would be with the material chosen for the gimmick, as its made from the same material as every small packet trick wallet that eventually frays at the edges! They mentioned they tried tyvek and I really wish they stuck with that, unfortunately it wasnt possible to mass produce. They mention they went for functionality over looks, but durability is an important factor for any edc item.
Overall Im very happy with the tutorial material and collaborative ideas!
Go through the whole tutorial and practice, practice, practice! These guys have shared a passionate project with us that deserves the attention to detail it takes to share what appears to be “real magic”

Poorly constructed, bulky, unintelligent design Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 28th, 2023
Besides the fact that mine started coming unglued almost immediately, the "ramps" that separate the cards out are poorly constructed and don't work very well in practice. This thing is also ENORMOUS, leaving bulge in your pocket that looks like you're trying to smuggle a wine bottle. Requires lots of fiddling, and requires you to have your hand deep in your pocket to begin with, which frankly looks a bit obscene, in addition to suspicious.

I have owned many indexes. This is the first that went straight back to the manufacturer because of its shockingly poor conception and shockingly poor execution.

looking for an inDEX? Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 28th, 2023
You found it! This is going to be your next card index that you'll have as your EDC. first, the index itself- even though the past versions shown on the history section of the tutorial are much more beautiful, DEX looks very cool. When it isn't loaded it's thinner than a box of cards and when fully loaded, it's thinner than a box of cards with a ticatac laying on it (on its shorter side). The design allows you to reach any 4 of a kind with 2 counts max, and to any card within the 4 of a kind with 3 counts max. The tutorial- is VERY good. Some may be afraid of the NINE HOUR tutorial but you shouldn't. It's divided into multiple videos (that are unlisted yt videos), and every video is divided to many sections, and it is very easy to navigate between sections. Lloyd and Javier show the history of DEX, how to use DEX with both hands, how to retrieve the card, how to switch between types of palms, they share A LOT of routines, they show how to use it with tricks that don't require playing cards, then Andrew Neiner-the inventor of the boom box shares some awesome routines and Jake Keane shares his mentalism DEX routine. In the tutorial you also get tips on how to practice, "a practice session", and you also get to see Beau Creamer learn DEX for the 1st time. If you're looking for an index, stop looking. This is the index for YOU.

Great device but be warned Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on October 1st, 2023
This is the best single card index the only thing is you have to put in the time to master it, I got mine and watched the video and practiced for about a week couple of hours a day and I can pull any card in about 3 to 4 seconds, Well built and as long as you have pockets you are good to go, I have used both my front and rear pocket and it works the same

Don't believe the haters I previously used Chetah but that was 2 pocket and got burned a couple of times, although it works good
