This is a set of my three favorite Oil and Water routines, all done with an ordinary deck using pure sleight-of-hand.

Instant Oil and Water: Four red cards and four black cards instantly mix together, and then instantly separate again. No odd counting displays—just a clean demonstration of mixing and separation.

Oil and Water Exhibition: The magician openly displays four red cards and four black cards, but at the last two cards, the colors instantly mix. Then the mixed condition is shown cleanly, and at the last two cards, the red and black separate again. Also no awkward counting sequences.

Transfer Oil and Water: Four red cards and four black cards are interlaced. They instantly separate. Not only can they separate, but the red and black packets can also transpose in the hands. The routine ends with an unexpected climax.
