Andrew Mayne, creator of Illusion EFX, Levitator and Gut Buster presents an amazing twist on a classic illusion.

Step into an upright cabinet made from two cardboard boxes and then visibly separate the two halves of your body! Slide the top box to the side and the audience can see both your upper torso and legs are completely separated. Then blow their minds as you lift your upper body up with your hands showing your waist is several inches off the floor of the cabinet and detached completely! The top box is then slid back and you emerge intact.

It is one of those get your own stuff and i'll teach you how to do it effects. The method is simple but the overall construction is genius. I had a theory on how this worked but after learning how the boxes are made and how convenient it is to use objects that you can find (except the boxes, thats the hard part) I give it a 4 since i am still on the hunt 4 boxes and i need to do this 4 future stage shows.

i love this illusion! this is sort of the "poor man's" saw cutting illusion, but it is very cool. i immediately went out to buy the boxes after my first viewing of the dvd.
you need no assistant, you need no major expenses.after purchasing the boxes, all you need to make it, you've probably already got.
this is eye catching, fools kids as well as adults.very clever!

It is just good, this type need to be done at night and not so bright lighting. So many preparation and not easy to do

I am just a hobbyist and simple stage magic is what I needed. In Half has been a great way to perform the big effects without having the need for an assistant. Awsome, Thanks Andrew for a great illusion.

My female assistant did this as a "I can do magic too" bit. It brought the house down. It was going to be our second to last trick but the reaction was so great that we ended with it. Lots of "oohs, ahhs and laughs".
As for the expense of making it, how does FREE sound. I went on the internet (Craigslist) and found people in area who had just moved and wanted to get rid of their moving boxes. In my opinion, used beat up boxes add to the effect.Thanks, Andrew. Great original trick.

If you can't find a Public Storage near you by using the 800 number seen in the video I think I may know another source. 24"X24" is a very common size for kitchen cabinets. Look for a contractor remodeling kitchens or building houses and they may be able to get you boxes for free.
Andrew Mayne came up with a very impressive and inexpensive full sized stage illusion and I like how he did it. My only disappointment was when I found out that he wasn't really cutting himself in half.

Great, very good, very well explained everything takes a lot of preparation but the effect is very strong, you have several ways to do it, thank you very much, all you need is a couple of boxes ... I gave 4 stars because it's a little hard to do , but I recommend it! :)
