This lecture was pretty good. There was a lot of information given in two hours. The last hour was
Q & A with a Bonus from Mr. Mayne teaching his effect, "Ghost Bills".
I appreciated the
thought and theory behind his methods. He kept the mood light but very informative as he moved from
one effect to the next. He presented some of his signature tricks (bowling ball from bag) as well
as some I had not seen him do before.
I gave it 4 stars because while the close up magic
was good, I was hoping he would revert to some of the bigger stage illusions he is known to have
created; like "In Half" or "Bi-section" or "Light Storm". I understand that he had to travel to do
the lecture, so that may have been what caused the light set.
I did not particularly like
the card in shoe effect, with the "monkey king" story. It just seemed to drag on a bit too long for
my taste. The solution to the effect also seemed a little chincy. That's just my opinion though.
In all, there is some powerful stuff in with some weird/shock effects (pencil through
Cheek). I learned a lot and will definitely consider purchasing more of Mr. Mayne's products in the
future. He is a great communicator and breaks down what is going on in the trick and why he
performs it the way he does.
This was my first Penguin Live Lecture, I was a little weary
not knowing what to expect. I'm glad I made the investment!

In the beginning I thought this lecture was not so good because there was a lot of noise and
screaming :) Afterwards it was much better. The best part from my point of view is at the end when
Andrew Mayne was talking about creativity and some general remarks about becoming famous.

In fact i didn't know of Andrew until now. He did teach some nice stuff indeed.
He has
some interesting performance style.
There are two effects that i loved the most - one was
the effect with the card frames melting together, or better to say linking together- Easy, visual,
effective.
for me it was worth the money invested.

Is there nothing Andrew can't do. A successful author (I read his books) and app developer I have
his writers app. Magic originator (I have bought his tricks), performer and teacher. This live Video
is chock full of great simple tricks that play big. Plenty of performance guides. All presented in a
fun entertaining way.

I’ve been a fan of Andrew Mayne ever since I first got into magic many years ago. I even had the
privilege of seeing him lecture live in New York City. This online lecture is fantastic—I recently
rewatched it, and it’s jam-packed with strong, practical magic that works in close-up, parlor, and
even stage settings.
Here’s a list of everything he teaches, in order:
-Freefall
-Hypercards (my personal favorite)
-Tear Down
-4 Card Trick (referenced as A-Wave)
-Inversion
-Extreme Brain Damage
-Shiv or aka Stab’d
-Pencil Thru Cheek
-Monkey King / Mind Spider (Card in Shoe)
-Ghost Bills (taught in Q&A section)
Andrew
is extremely entertaining, and it’s fun to watch how he engages with his audience. His approach to
magic is very thoughtful—he focuses on material that’s easy and practical rather than unnecessarily
difficult, all backed by real-world experience. Many of these effects have been marketed separately,
so it’s a real value to have them all collected here.
Overall, I think this is a must-watch
lecture.
I’ve got most if not all his other projects, and there were plenty material and subtleties that are
not in those. His effects are very entertaining and his methods are often very clever. This is an
outstanding lecture.
I love how funny he is while performing/explaining. His explanations are simply great and easy to
understand!
What an ingenious inventor! Andrew is one of my favourites! Great lecture!

Gives good advice, the things he teaches can be applied in so many ways it isn't even funny! Take
what he teaches, and you can make your own eye popping effects. There are some on here I don't use,
but it is well worth it! He teaches in depth, subtlies, and different ideas! The effects I don't
use, I still learn from to make my own effects.
