After watching the trailer a few times I thought I had the effect figured out. When I received the trick I found out I was right. Being around magic for so long I just know what to look for. That being said, it is still an amazing effect that will get good reactions from the average person.

When it comes to magic I've always been more interested in cards. I bought this trick as a way to mix things up. The effect itself requires a few basic and common slights. Like some others, I wish Greg would go into a little more detail about the handling, but with practice you can still get the moves down.

The product itself is very nice. I only wish the tag had the illusion engraving on both sides. Greg's performances on the DVD are great and entertaining. Definitely something I'll carry with me a lot, because let's face it, people tend get bored of card tricks pretty fast these days. I don't know if there is a more surprising impromptu effect.

This is my fourth review on Penguin in the past decade. Again Greg Wilson comes through with a basically impromptu "illusion" that is simply stunning. Easy to master with just a touch of misdirection. This "illusion" is a real crowd pleaser. Particularly since one or even two of your spectators are hands on and very involved in the effect. Thank you Greg. You did it again. One quarter of my best effects are from you or inspired by you. Wear your Tag wherever you go and you have a true shocker at the tips of your fingers. OK, where to start?..
I was on the fence about this one for a while just because, looking at it in the demo, from a magician's point of view because I knew from watching exactly how it was done, and I was absolutely correct, I thought,.. "How could this fool anyone?"

Well, I received mine in the mail from Penguin Magic. I watched the video. I learned all the nuances, and decided to go try out the "2 phase" routine. (As it is the simplest, and best in my opinion.

I tried it on my wife first (as usual)
And she was FLOORED !!!! Begging me to tell her how I did it for hours (This is very unusual for her, as she's normally bored with my magic)

The next day I had a party for my son's bday. I went around showing family and friends throughout the night (when the moments where right) and ended up performing it 6 more times that night with equal response! These are people who know me better than anyone and have seen me do things which where unbelievable, time and time again. Yet this ONE trick with a dog-tag had them all going completely nuts!!! (I want to mention that I have been wearing a dog-tag of some sort for several years so this looks completely natural around my neck even to those that know me)

The following day I went to the corner store for some snacks and a soda, ended up hanging out there for an hour where I showed it to about 2 dozen people in the parking lot, and not once, did anyone figure out the method.

The next day, was Memorial Day in the USA, where I went to a cookout and performed it (using my own variation) about 15 more times! EACH TIME THIS EFFECT KILLS !!!

ABSOLUTELY FLOORING PEOPLE LEFT AND RIGHT!
Not for Magicians, but for lay audiences this thing is (for some reason) one of the best (and I mean loud!) reactions I've ever gotten in 25+ years of performing magic. I have no idea of the impact this has on lay-people, simply cause I could see how it was done in the demo, but I swear by this now!

Get it, practice it, and see for yourself what I'm talking about! Unleashed has in about a week, turned into my favorite go-to effects when in casual attire! It's killer, it's simple, and when they realize the dog-tag is back on the chain, thru your shirt with their finger seemingly on it the whole time, they just don't know what hit 'em, and it hits 'em like a freight train when done proper.
And,.. if that wasn't enough, you start clean (with some thought), and end clean. By the time you're showing the tag back on the chain, it's too late for anyone to backtrack and your hands are completely empty!

I've always been huge fan of Greg Wilson's work and this has gone up there with my top 5 all-time favorites in about a week of performing it!

As I said in the title, The reactions you get are priceless, especially for something so simple to do!

This is a great trick, I have had wonderful reactions in the short time I have been using it. As with any trick, you should practice, practice, practice until you are smooth with the moves. The D.V.D. is very well done, clear and understandable. The chain I was sent kept coming undone, I clamped it a little tighter at the fastening point and the problem was fixed. The trick is highly visual and plays big. It is easily carried, and the dog tag is great. I like to wear mine all the time because of the quality, it looks good. Put it in your cart, it's well worth it.

Greg Wilson is one of those magicians who is still worth watching even if you never wanted to perform any of his tricks. But I have yet to find a single one of his tricks that is not worth performing. Unleashed is no different. It strikes the perfect balance between gimmicked-based magic and misdirection-based magic. The misdirection is straight-forward, supported by the gimmick and trick, and the whole thing makes sense. Not only is it a great piece in and of itself, it's also a great way to learn and practice picking up on doing "sneaky" moves on the offbeat, and controlling peoples attention. It's almost like a set of training wheels for more complicated tricks.

I would've have placed myself as someone who could pull-off wearing a dog tag, but I really don't care if it means I get to perform this trick.

Great trick, and good quality dog tag. But it could have been great to have more detailled explanation about the handling (a view from behind for example).

Ok first off you just know this is a fantastic, practical and hard hitting trick, purely because its Greg Wilson. I own most of Greg's material, and more importantly I use it in paid performances.
Ok onto unleashed itself. You get a really well made dog tag, a DVD with multiple routines. The trick itself is really fooling for a layman. I performed this this morning in a local coffee shop. Super impromptu.
I've worn a dog style necklace for many years, so this fits with my style (casual - non performing). I probably won't be doing this at my paid gigs, but to be honest I wouldn't want to. This is for a much more relaxed environment when you don't really need a set.
But in all honesty you won't regret buying this effect. Plus you get to watch Greg perform on the streets for real people. That's worth the price by itself.

This trick gets a reaction, is very practical, and kills. although the dvd case is poorly made, it became un glued the day i purchased this. But other than that FANTASTIC!
