Historically interesting, but not in the same league as many tricks available today. Nothing here that I would actually use.

As usual, these videos are great. The only thing that would make them better is to offer them on DVD with a menu so you can jump to a particular trick you want to reference.

Engaging and covers a wide variety of magic. Clever alternative methods and presentations, not just the classical/original. Well presented.

Just got through watching Dan show me some new items to add into my sets in addition to the "Paper Balls Over The Head". I love that trick but everyone does it and I would like something new to do. Now I have a couple of very good replacements in addition to...! I absolutely loved the Vanishing Ring On String and the Penetrative Cigar Bands. These are two effects in Tarbell that Dan updated and they are awesome. I remember every one of these effects from the book and they are all very good teaching lessons because I noticed the gasps by people that have not read Tarbell before. The principles involved are really good and coupled with other effects can make for a great set or routine. The opening effects are great examples of this. They are rubber band effects. They would be great warm up effects or lead-ins for your Rubber Band magic or Ring on Rope sets. Really nice video with a lot of fun magic. Another home run Penguin! Great work Dan!

All of the rope tricks are great with top quality. I did not like the Kellar's Cut. Very messy for me with the wax and is not examinable.

I am really liking these videos. Dan Harlen gives some nice updates to the original effects in the books as well as combining some things while changing others to make some beautiful, practical tricks!

I started to go back to the beginning of Dan Harlan's excellent Tarbell series and I came across this JEM. You could do a whole show with just these tricks!

Contains a lot of cut and restored items so of you are into that, a welcome addition to your library.

Cool tricks, but definitely not impromptu.
