"He's fooled me worse, AND more times than any magician on the planet." -Rick Lax

If you ever want to know when Juan Tamariz has arrived at a convention, watch for the mob of professional magicians running towards the hotel lobby like school boys.

Juan Tamariz travels the world fooling everyone. Pro magicians. Card experts. Guys who never get fooled.

He's a living legend, and Royalistic is his reputation making 5-card poker trick.

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS

1. Show 5 indifferent cards, front and back.
2. Do a "secret move" to demonstrate your skills
3. Show that you've instantly swapped the 5 cards out for a ROYAL FLUSH.
4. And the kicker: to hammer home the point that you really switched these cards out right under their noses.. their backs are ALL DIFFERENT, TOO.

PROFESSIONALS: What makes this trick so powerful is its simplicity. You're not using the deck at all. All eyes are burning your hands, and those 5 cards. Even if nobody blinks, they won't see a thing.

You can't go wrong with anything by Juan Tamariz. Enjoy!

Acar Altinsel
born to perform.

--

"Juan Tamariz' Royalistic is one of my favorite routines to perform at casual gatherings, walk-around, table-hopping, tradeshows and any close-quarters situations. It is topical, direct, visual and impossible. It is as close to a perfect routine as you can get. I have performed it more than 10,000 times since Juan taught it to me in 1998 and it has never failed me. The day Juan agreed to let me release it to the magic community was one of my happiest days. And now it is ready for you to enjoy--and you will!" -Meir Yedid

One of the best card routines you will ever do!

You freely display a mediocre Poker hand with blue (or red) backs. You square the cards, make a magical gesture (if you like) and immediately show that the five cards changed into the best possible Poker hand--A Royal Flush. For an unbelievable ending you now turn the cards face down to show that each card has a different back.

Comes complete with all necessary cards and full-color, photo-illustrated instructions.

Easy to learn.

Royalistic AND Poker Test 2.0 Report this review

Here's a crazy idea. What if you START with Poker Test 2.0. Flashy, visual, quick. Then you do a bunch of card magic...maybe a poker trick. And then you END with Royalistic. It's a great finisher because unlike Poker Test 2.0, you can really show the cards freely. They sit on the table, you can turn them over, fan them out. (Unlike Poker Test 2.0 in which you must handle the cards in a specific way.)

Just think that'd be so killer...similar trick but with completely different methods....I bet it would blow people away.

Royalistic is an instant classic. And you can perform this immediately because of the teaching video Rick Lax has made showing his incredible routine.

Most everyone will have everything they need in their magic supply area and kitchen.

You can make this up in ANY brand of cards you use!

Very clever and easy setup. A little hard to start the trick for me (getting the right card separation and finger positions), but extremely clever.

This is a cool trick but the instructions are poor!
A DVD explanation would go a long way. I would not recommend buying anything that does not include a DVD presentation of how a trick works.

What a trick! Report this review

This trick is easy and is extremely impactful. The method itself is worth way more than the trick.

If I love it so much why only 3 stars? I hear you ask.
Simple. The trick is a one-hit-wonder of a trick. It is impressive yes. It is an amazing Packet trick. But let's be real for once.
Packet tricks You pull a specific set of cards out of a wallet, case, etc. It's not a full deck. It's a couple of cards. The audience is not stupid. They know those cards have been set aside to do a trick. I do not care how much of a showman you are, the audience will have fun and enjoy the trick, but they know the cards are used specifically for that trick. You could try to set the cards on top of a deck and act like you just take 5 random cards out of the deck. Cool beans. But what will you do after the reveal? Put them back in the deck? Cop them out?.

This trick is all-around amazing. And is worth every penny. But the Principal behind it has many more applications worth playing around with.

This trick is also really good for video-based magic either on TV or socail media when all you need is a one and done trick. It is possible to add these cards in and steal them out. But that doesnt match the flow of my performances.

The trick 10/10
Practicality 6/10
Principal/method 10/10
Instructions 7/10
Difficulty level 3/10 (almost self-working)
Impact 7/10 (Depends on the performer, not the trick)

I hope this helps.

A Little Disapointed Report this review

I am a fan of Tamariz. I used to buy a lot of packet tricks, but hadn't much in a long time. The presentation looked terrific. So I was lured to buy it. I have read the instructions several times, but yet have had the courage to try it. Some of the method may be a little beyond my dexterity and other tricks I've had with ad_____ involved did not work well. I hope to try it eventually.

One of those tricks, where trailer does not need editing. You can do exactly what you see and with minimal or mostly none sleight of hand at all. I also absolutely love Rick's handling, which I find much more clear and straightforward,as it needs even less sleight of hand than the original one.
Buy that and you will see yourself.
