When I learned the method, I was unimpressed and very concerned. It was very different than other book tests I have used. The method is far from fool-proof and is dependent on you observing your participant. Ironically, this is a children's book, but I have found the primary method works better on adults!

I have performed this a couple dozen times now and have received mixed reactions. I will continue to perform this because I like the danger of failure with mentalism and I can sell it with presentation whether I succeed or fail. It's a mentalism trick, it's good show some failure sometimes.

Also, if you're not comfortable reading body language (which you WILL need to do if the primary method fails...which it probably will fail) then this is not for you.

2 stars since this is not as robust as many "standard" book tests and you can't turn your back on the spectator.

If you want a truly amazing, organic book test, I highly recommend you pony up the dough and buy Tru Test from Penguin. That is spectacular!

This prop is great for doing in mixed crowds at events and parties.

The first phase is having a picture selected and then revealed by magi.The second phase is having a word selected and then revealed by the magi.

So, have a kid do the first part and an adult do the second. It could even be their parent.

Be advised that this is not for adults, you can only use it for kids and even then some are too quick for this.

It sounded a lot better in the descsription than it turned out. It's usable,but not very impressive.

I really did not expect such a sophisticated book test when I initially purchased this, I thought that it would be good enough for kids and leave it at that. Well to my surprise, it plays extremely well to adults because of its simplicity! I must be the only hypnotist/mentalist that uses a coloring book in his act!!!

This is a great way to add a coloring book/mentalism aspect to children's routine without using the easily identified magician's coloring book. The overall quality is pretty good.

I like this, it's great! Kids will luv it, if you do kids shows! But I suggest mind reader wallet or mind controller if you want to do adult mentalism, I get huge reaction with mind reader wallet!

Perhaps it's the other way around? Because this may take some serious crowd control when it fails. It's not a complete flunkies but you may find yourself in detention or having to do a make up test, the probability of this worki g every time is below the curve.
