Dangerous, disturbing... perhaps a touch disgusting... and most definitely something different, Swallowing Needles and Razor Blades is magic on the fringe.

Straddling the line between illusion and side-show, these regurgitation-inspired stunts are sure to get a reaction from all who witness them.

And, Dan's streamlined presentation gives one lucky participant an up-close-and-personal view of the whole process, one which she'll never forget.

Plus, you'll learn to make the needles come out threaded on the SAME thread that goes into your mouth. Dan's method is revealed here for the first time ever.

And once you've developed a taste for more, you'll see how to eat truly sharp, individual razor blades and recover them with a single strand of dental floss.

Once again, it's Dan's closely-guarded secret with a newly-updated loading method making it safer and more secure than ever before.

As a bonus, Dan expanded upon the original lesson by including a brand-new, fun presentation that looks just as dangerous, but it's the safest of all.

Whether or not you decide to perform these geek-inspired stunts is up to you, but (in this lesson) you'll learn what you need to know to do it properly.

I have been performing "A Single Needle" by Wayne Houchin since it came out, but this project has made me decide to go big or go home. I am in the process of writing a corporate show which packs small and plays big. I think the needle swallowing routine fits the bill perfectly. Plus, it's reusable! This means less expense/multiple purchases.

Thank you Dan for giving such a great, comprehensive lesson on needle/razor blade swallowing.

You need a lot of patience to perform this effect, but it's totally worth it. I performed this trick at a show recently and the reactions were amazing, big thank you penguin magic!!!!

Finally! An excellent explanation of how to do this properly! I have known this for years watching Penn and Teller, but could never come up with a safe(r) handling.

I haven't bought anything magic wise in 10 years, but I had to know the handling.

IT IS STILL TRULY DANGEROUS! Accidents are possible, but if you follow instructions to a T....they are minimized with practice....but the risk is always there.

I'm sure anyone who performs this aren't happy to have this straight up out there, but I for one....am super stoked to have finally known this <3

Explanations are thorough, as they should be for something like this.

Good, useable information Report this review

Okay, so I have thoughts about this. Theres the good and the bad. The bad? You only get 2.5 tricks. You get a needle swallowing and razor blade swallowing trick. Also, you get a bonus trick that Dan is working on. Its not yet solid, but it is a strong effect. I won't say it here, as it was listed as a bonus on it. That being said, it is more of a way to see how needle swallowing can be incorporated into more routines than simply swallowing needles.
The good: You get 2 solid, fully explained routines. Dan takes everything into account. He walks you through the building, the preparation, and the trick in staggering detail. He leaves no stone unturned, even telling you how long it will take to prepare, and even the brands that he uses. The detail is fantastic, as always. He also adds tips into this video which make it as safe as possible. Overall, I will be instantly adding the needle swallowing into my act, and this may have been the most detail I have heard Dan go into with any trick.
Why only 4 stars? It's a great video with great tips on needle swallowing. However, I wish there would be more applications, and this is a fairly known method for performing this. Other than a few great tips from Dan, nothing groundbreaking (IMHO).
Overall, fantastic video, would recommend with reservations. If the idea of this grosses you out, or if you don't like needles, don't bother buying!
Thank you Dan!

Another piece of Harlan genius Report this review

This is a great piece of work by Dan (again). While the information on needles and blades is wonderful and complete should you want to do this, the real gold is the bonus routine. I can see someone making this a fifteen-minute piece of comedy gold. It will take work and good writing, but the "bones" are there for you.

Highly recommended.

If you want to do this type of effect then definitely get this course. Even if you end up doing other methods, Dan always gives you some inside info that is useful.

His funny presentation for the blades is great.

He adds his own work in progress using fish hooks that could become someone's showstopper routine.

I liked the presentation and discussion of the magic. Very detailed. But I am afraid of the technique. Maybe I am a chicken but this could hurt me. So do I try it. Maybe it’s not for me. But I enjoyed learning the trick.
