This deck was roughed far too well. A good Invisible Deck should grip with moderate pressure, then slide with light pressure. These gripped with the desperate tenacity of a man hanging on to the edge of a cliff. Even with a delicate touch, these cards were like trying to push apart two pieces of 80-grit sandpaper.

Buy the Harry Robson Roughing Sticks or some roughing spray, and make your own with the proper moderate grip.

Is it possible that you haven't handeled a brand new invisible deck in so long time that you've forgotten what it feels like? You are either overstating or there must be something wrong with the one that you got because this doesn't sound normal to me.
