I was provided a copy of this trick to review.

Rick Lax has a history of releasing products that require the use of specially printed cards to produce a unique and impossible memento or moment of magic. I have his "Contact" trick which gets tons of millage, so I was interested in checking this out.

What you get: A deck of specially printed cards (on maiden back) so you can do this trick and access to a video download. The video download is about 20 minutes long and goes over a performance with the explanation of the routine and variations.

The Trick: Read the description to see. The trick is not necessarily visual, however, the souvenir is distinct and something that can be examined over and over. There are variations of the trick where the change happens visually, so you can really take some of those sleights from your toolbox to apply it to your performance.

You only need the cards provided to do this trick, so you do not need a deck, and I would recommend not using a deck to keep things open and fair looking.

The cards are needed to do this trick since the final products need to be examined. The signed version is pretty awesome and will leave another awesome souvenir.

There are minimal slights used and you will be able to perform this decently within the few minutes watching the DVD. There are a few moments where you can mess up, but they are easily fixed with practice.

I do not have many cons to say about this trick without getting overly picky, it is what it shows and it is workable and practical. You need the extra trick cards, but then again, it is a trick impossible to do without them.

Another solid release by Lax and everyone who helped develop this.

You obviously have to provide your own ace with the diamond to switch out with the gimmick, correct?

I know I'm late to the party but I'm definitely thinking bout picking this up. I have almost everything that Rick's released, and this looks simple but powerful. Leaving them with the "magic" you just created is a Big win for especially the spectator. Bravo Capt. Lax👍

Curatolo, if I'm guessing here, you don't need to switch anything. I think the ace is already gimmicked, I won't disclose my guess because I want to respect Rick and protect the secret but you start and end with 2 cards. If I'm doing this for a special group IMO,signing them makes them personal and way more impossible
