I would have liked a more detailed explanation. The discovery of the selected card's identity is done in a different manner than the way Shin Lim did it (which was a riffle peek). I was looking for more detailed explanation of that peek. But was disappointed when the key card method was used.
Other than that, it was good, although SL's performance was just superb. So many nuances.

Then Mr. Vanish what did SL use because I watched him over and over and have no idea how he did it.

There are two videos of him doing this. one is on AGT with three other people. There is also one with Ellen Degeneris and 2 other people. If you watch it closely you will see he never does a riffle peak but you should be able to pick up how he sees the card.

After watching both perfomances by Shin Lim it's obvious he does use a peek and if you want to learn it purchase Brian Gillis's Penguin Live lecture. On the Ellen show at 1:18 in to his performace he ask Ellen to hold out her hand - the deck is in his left hand face down at 1:19 he rotates his left hand with the cards end over end. Why? because he needs to peek the card. He could have just handed the deck to her but he needs to get a peek.
