Trick does wonders online or behind a camera but unless you're great a sleight-of-hand, it will not work in real life and your audience cannot touch the gimmicked oreo. Nevertheless, if you are smart with this trick, you can convince audiences like I have done on my Instagram that the magic they see before their eyes is what it is.

I thought the same. Looks good on video , but in real life people are going to want to see that cookie. So a switch is necessary. I hope the switch is built into the routine that is taught? If not then there's a vital step that has been left out of this routine.
