This is a very nice trick, but the advertising for it is inaccurate. It is claimed that the trick can be used with a borrowed deck. What is not mentioned is that the deck requires a setup and no instructions are given as to a good way to secretly put the deck in the proper order. As a consequence, many magicians (especially those attracted to the advertised self-working nature of the trick) will end up only using the trick as an opener and only with their own deck.
