The video for this effect intrigued me, so I ordered it, and it is now a solid part of my
performance rotation. Before purchasing an effect from Penguin, I always read the reviews to see
what other magicians have to say about it. The lower-star reviews about The GOAT complain that it
doesn't contain everything... but I don't know a magic enthusiast who doesn't have a drawer full of
partial decks that have been scavenged over time for one effect or another.
I received the
package from Penguin, grabbed a few cards from my "bone yard" drawer packs, and I was immediately
off and running. No problem.
There's also been some talk in the reviews about the fact that you
end dirty... I mean, come on, that's 95% of all magic effects! The audience never gets to examine
the zig-zag lady cabinet. This effect slays, and when I perform it, I just continue on to the next
effect, ditching any dirty cards, and the transition is seamless.
Any decent magic effect
requires a bit of practice, and the instructional video for this is spot on - you'll really enjoy
it.
Summary - Yeah, you have to add a few regular cards. But master this effect, and you'll
experience the reactions that you see on the video.
