At this point, Craig is just dominating the magic space when it comes to new tricks and releases. He
has proven himself to be masterful when it comes to presenting older plots or methodology but
packaged in a new, modern, PRACTICAL, commercial way.
I knew roughly exactly what I was
getting because the ad copy is very accurate and informative. The chips feel like a nice weight and
they sound right when they click against one another, the prints on the chips are pretty nice with
no crappy stickers (something I was a little worried would happen given my experience with some
previous, not to be named, poker chip effects.) The markings are very easy to read. The few gaff
chips that are included in the set push the value over the top because it unlocks so many great
tricks you possibly couldn't do with only the 10 chip "main set."
The instructional
download is just 3 hours of great ideas. Just to underscore how good the instructional download is,
I honestly think the download alone could have been taught with cards and sold as its own project
with no physical product and been worth it for $30-40 easily. You get ESP matchups, 10 card poker
deals, impossible predictions, transpo effects, coins across effects, spellbound style routines with
a twist, and more, and I believe Craig's long and detailed magic instructions are one of the things
he does that sets him apart from most of the magic industry. I usually feel like I didn't just buy a
one-and-done trick when I buy one of these Petty releases, but instead that I bought a full package
with multiple options, ideas, routines and uses. This product once again gave me that same feeling.
I have started to do a 15 minute "set" with these chips that I structured to flow from one trick to
the next and finish with a powerful closer. It's been absolutely frying people, and I personally
feel a lot better about putting a small bag of poker chips (I personally put my set of chips in a
small Crown Royal drawstring bag, it felt cool and thematic to me) in my pocket rather than a deck
of cards to get tattered, warped, and beat up. Also, any tricks to get away from doing YET ANOTHER
card trick is always a welcome addition to my repertoire. No one that I've performed this for yet
has said anything about the different values being the same color, and I believe this concern from
some commenters is more of a magicians overthinking it problem. All in all, I have no regrets and I
believe this product is extremely worth the money.
