Overview/What you get: (5/5)
This is a really cool one or two card revelation, that leaves
plenty of room for atmosphere/storytelling in your presentation.
You get a durable,
well-made prop, and access to the 16 minute tutorial through Murphys Magic--it won't appear in the
Penguin dl library.
Pros:
* There is something really magical feeling about the
revelation, as long as you practice doing it fluidly.
* The prop is handleable without much
worry of them figuring it out
* It lends itself to both casual and more formal
close-up/small group presentations
Cons:
* The prop is plain looking; I'd strongly
recommend swapping out the provided twine for something more personalized.
* The price is
pretty high for something that is essentially "just a card reveal," if that's the way you think
about things.
* If you aren't careful about sightlines, you might flash a reveal as you're
showing it to people (he discusses how to avoid this in the download)
Ease of
Learning/Performance: (4.5-5/5)
This prop works so simply that it feels silly even trying to
rate it. There's only one thing you have to remember, and not even no sleights, but barely any fine
motor control.
As long as you have a favorite force, you should be performing this very
quickly, and spending most of your time with the effect coming up with impactful scripting!
Instruction (5/5)
Cyril does a great job explaining the prop, how to use it, and throws in a
very straightforward and simple force for folks who don't already have one.
Verdict:
If
you're looking for a way to turn a card trick into something slightly more memorable and atmospheric
without the trappings of a stage show, and don't mind the price, you should absolutely pick this up.
