This lecture is pure gold.
However, the gold is not (at least IMHO) in the effects he
presents and teaches but in his thinking and approach to magic.
Three key things that I
took away from this lecture:
1. The importance and thinking behind how you are introduced
and open your show; an excellent moment to set the mindset of our audience in the right frame to
appreciate our magic
2. Making very clear who/what has magic powers/properties
3.
(to me the most important one) Putting focus and emphasis on THE MOMENT OF MAGIC. We, magicians,
tend to take the moment of magic too much for granted, and we move through it very often as if it
was just another procedural moment in our effect. But to our audiences, it’s the MOST IMPORTANT part
of our presentation, and we need to give it its due moment, focus, and attention.
