I dislike these bold claims on how this compares to the Berglas Effect. It doesn’t because there’s
always a catch. In this case you need them to use a website. Who wants to use a website for a trick?
Saying this is so clean in the trailer then dropping a bomb like oh btw you can’t do this trick
without a website. Disappointed in this trick. Now to be fair Craig and Lyod are geniuses and this
is a decent trick. But man that was a bummer to hear the spectator needs to use an app.
Wrong. The website doesn't have to be used. You can have an app in your phone that is disguised as the notes app, so you can do the secret math work in seconds.
Very insightful review https://youtu.be/PPCNf6T0748?si=DEnjBTljL4C6FPEU
Of course there's always a catch, buddy. It ain't real magic. The catch here is it requires a phone or electronic device of some kind to make it work. It's incredibly deceptive and the effect is POWERFUL. So to give this 2 stars because you don't like it using a phone... makes your review invalid.
The deck is great. The trick is great. The method is great.
Agreed there are ways around the app. If you watch the review by Magicorthodoxy he also explains that Craig said this was not ideal to perform without the use of tech. Same goes for how I view this. This is a decent trick but to have the selling point be “closest version to ACAAN” is a wild statement for this deck. Again respect to Craig but there is an issue with saying something is the cleanest then adding tech. Many clean ACAANS out there that don’t pretend to be anywhere near the Berglas Effect. I gave it 2 stars because I was disappointed. Great quality, Clever method and a decent trick overall.
You don’t need a phone at all
There's a crib available to eliminate phone
Who in the world uses a phone to jot down a card...that screams gimmick and watch the video, you can see Craig "searching and stalling" to get the card...not magical. BTW...it is NOT ACAAN...there is a range and it is limited.
just be in tunne with the updates they release to the trick. Lloyd Barnes just released a crib in his youtube channel for performances with NO cell phone.
JAACAAN EFFECT Any Card at Any Number is cheaper and can be made with bicycle cards no apps no phone
WHERE do I find the CRIB CARD?
I don't want to use my phone!
Craig said in his video they would upload it..
Have not seen anything in the tutorial!
Crib video is up and the 3rd one down. Also, links for PDF right underneath it.
I absolutely agree that the convenient omission of the use of a phone is deceptive and disappointing. I don't remember what made me think to use Chat with a Magician on PM's site to find out about the phone, but as soon I was told 'Yes, you use a phone', it was NO SALE for me. I am pleased that some others feel this way.
And nuts to you who so rabidly defend this purposeful omission, or scream, 'You don't need a phone', or say 'There's a crib card' when others say they can't find it. And inadequate instructions in any tutorial is unforgivable.
IMHO, it ain't ACAAN until it is EXACTLY as I have heard the original Berglas effect described. Kudos to the reviewer who led with 'There's always a catch.'
If you want a real “Any Card At Any Number” without having to use technology, or without having to influence/force a card, check out Unbiased Magic Reviews “Unbiased ACAAN”.
I also don't like having to use the phone, and if your audience is the least bit math savvy they'll see through the "odds of your card at that position" nonsense, as the odds are 1 in 52, always. Name a card, and you have a 1 in 52 chance it'll be in a specific position. But I've come up with a way to privately use the phone: I have them name a card, then I go into ANOTHER ROOM and tell them I know where their card is and I'm going to telepathically send them the number. So I can check the phone in a way that makes the trick even more amazing as it's now mentalism in which they are the mindreader. If they name a position that's not feasible, I tell them they're not concentrating hard enough! (This of course only works in a home/casual setting).
My main problem with the trick is that the cards lose their ability to stay in pairs very easily. I even use the suggestion of cutting the cards and putting extra cards into the box for pressure, but I still have cards separating now and then. I do have to agree with the poster who said that Petty's tricks always seem to have a catch
