This chapter deals with many of the apparatuses that were standard stage and parlor effects 50-100 years ago. Some of the apparatuses are no longer easy to acquire, but in many cases Dan shows you how to make your own. The main problem with this chapter is that not much stage or parlor magic is done these days. He does have a beautiful routine for the Ball Vase, which is such an old trick that few people have seen it, so it could work into a modern closeup routine.
I would say this chapter is less a collection of practical tricks for today as it is a great guide to many classic magic principles as well as lots of tips for building custom props.Plus Dan's routining is always very inspiring.
