This effect is simple and well thought through. The routine makes sense and there is a lot of room
for individual patter. The necessary moves are incredibly simple and the transposition feels
impossible. The reveal is a real impossible moment for the spectators even without flourish or
fanfare. It's straightforward and a real surprise.
Erik teaches you how to make the gimmicks
which can be made with any denomination and any foreign currency. It is a small and thin gimmick
that fits easily into a wallet or magic kit. It's small enough that no preforming adolescent or
adult will have trouble handling it.
There is only one performance on the tutorial and Erik
uses that to break down the trick and provide justification for the moves. The first time through I
completely missed the gimmick load because it's totally normal and justified. It happens in an off
beat moment when "nothing is happening" yet. At that moment, nobody is looking close because in
their mind you haven't even started the magic.
Ditching the gimmick is the same situation.
Spectators are amazed by the reveal and you can very easily ditch the gimmick to show your hands
empty. It's so smooth.
I love that this uses borrowed bills and you're ahead of the spectators
the whole time so there's no need to rush or use misdirection.
Well done Erik! Thanks for a
great trick.
P.S. Poker Test 2.0 is phenomenal!
