I will absolutely be using this, and I have already loaded it up with sound effects for my stage
show.
That being said, this is unusable as a close up effect as the sound quality of the
inbuilt speakers is appalling; it's muffled and full of static. However, once plugged into a sound
system (even a portable karaoke speaker will do the job) the sound quality is top notch and crystal
clear.
The other issue to consider is that the sound bank only holds up to 8 tracks per
page. There are more pages than I'll ever use but switching between pages is generally loud and
obvious unless you program in a more quiet sound effect to indicate which page you are on. This is
not a deal breaker, but it is something to consider if your show uses more than 8 sounds.
For the sake of clarity, my show has the following sounds:
1. Welcome introduction with
music and voice over
2. Applause sound effect
3. Background music for the show
4. Voice
over cues
5. Voice over cues
6. Voice over cues
7. Voice over cues
8. Outro music
and voice over
The best feature of this product is that I do not need to depend upon a
sound technique who doesn't know my show and I still have complete control of the show whilst
onstage in possibly, an unknown location. The system is worlds cheaper than similar products and the
quality is outstanding once plugged into another system. With these features in mind, I would
strongly recommend this to performers on the more 'thrifty' end.
