WOW. That's just...wow. The deck really does do all the work for you, and you don't need to memorize
anything. The markings are devious but obvious but cleverly hidden. And you get so much information
from them!
I did a few routines for my wife (spouse test!) and she was stunned by the MOAB
quote reveal. She was absolutely certain she had a free choice of any card and any word from the
quotes on the cards, but I was able to hit it immediately.
Being able to hint at emotions
and reveal memories instead of just "oh, it's a black card, a spade, high card, Jack of Spades!".
It's more of a "you're thinking of a memory, but more than that, you get a certain feeling when
thinking of this memory. This is a good memory, one of joy?" It just hits the spectator emotionally.
There's an absurd amount of teaching on Evoke. Like, 9+ hours of teaching. Honestly I
think it's a bit overkill and it's one of my pet peeves, getting instructions so long I'll likely
never get through them all, but I understand that there's tons of potential and Craig wants to touch
on everything.
The two negatives for Evoke I see immediately:
A: For the
price, I would have liked two decks. There's no refill option available, so having to re-buy the
whole thing for 26 cards is expensive.
B: The tuck case is like, folded laminated paper.
It's flimsy and just doesn't feel very professional. I get that they couldn't use a normal tuck case
because there's only 28 cards but again, double up the cards so we get a full deck worth and you can
include a normal tuck case. On the other hand, it's very well disguised as a normal object case.
