Mario, you're a genius! This is art. This is whimsy. This is perfect and I'm in love.
But
you want me to just wax poetic, you want the details right?
Let's go...
First,
let's talk negatives. This is the only effect I've ever owned that had a warning on it that didn't
involve fire. As such, practice this with a buddy and perform it with someone that knows basic
safety procedures. This involves putting a thing in your mouth so there's a choking risk, albeit
equally small. This is therefore not recommended for our younger performers without more than usual
supervision.
That sounds scarier than it really is but I just don't want to hear about us
losing someone because of an avoidable circumstance.
What kind of performer is it for? It's
playful, it's going to get a laugh. If you want those things in your act, here's the sign you were
looking for.
Who is this best performed for? Uhhhh everyone that doesn't hate fun really.
It's goofy and playful. Maybe not the best handout ironically but that's beside the point.
How technically demanding is it? Not very. It takes a little practice but you've got this. It's
honestly one of the few effects where it is genuinely easier than what it looks like you're doing.
Remember, this about tying a balloon knot with just your tongue!
How clean does it end? I
wouldn't hand out the balloon but you could.
How much time to reset? This takes me just
under a minute to set up for a show. After some careful experimenting I've been able to have things
set and ready to go for hours before a performance. Resetting is the same unless you need to recycle
EVERYTHING then it takes an extra minute. Easy and simple.
In conclusion, this is playful.
It's comical. It's slightly dangerous and it has landed every time I've done it. It's a quality
effect and one that's permanent in my performances now!
