The video tutorial is excellent. You will need to experiment in a mirror to observe all the angles.

I came up with something that makes sense as a story line, and has a cheap giveaway at the end using a bit smaller than 1.75" plastic cars available on Amazon, etc.

Show "empty" hand with a microscopic 3D printer. When the light goes on, the light can move back an forth under cupped hands. Cupped to protect the spectator from the "laser printer". After the light goes out, the only thing in your hand is the tiny car. You hand it out and take advantage of the moment.
