This is an almost perfect "minimalist style" card to wallet. It will hold 3 cards in the outer slots
and maybe around another 3 to 4 inside the zipper compartment. The teaching video included is clear
and easy to follow. Josh provides a couple of handlings for the card to wallet plot (no palm and
with palming).
I took one star because of a flaw in the wallet construction and this might
be a flaw for you too. I was practicing and trying to load a card in the "secret load area" and I
was somehow having a hard time loading or inserting the card. I examined the wallet carefully and
found the flaw in construction of the wallet. The part of the wallet where the card is loaded has an
inner lining that is glued to leather. That lining is weakly glued and the lining may come unglued.
Now when you load a card it may catch on the lining making it hard for you to do the load. The
owners of the wallet may know what I am talking about. I brought this to PenguinMagic's attention
and they took care of this issue. (Great customer service!).
I did not want to keep this
in my "unused magic" drawer so I experimented on how to solve this wallet's issue. At first I tried
to add clear acetate in the card loading area but it warped the shape of the wallet and the load
still was not smooth. I finally settled on using black color "Gear Aid Repair Tape", the ones you
use for tent repair. I applied tape to the inner side and outer side of the loading compartment (I
applied tape like a U shape). This solved my issue of loading the card in the hidden compartment
because there is no more lining where it can get caught (because it is covered by the tape). The
gear aid tape blends well with color of the wallet.
Otherwise, this is a superb product
that should not be overlooked. If carrying a minimalist wallet is what you "everyday carry", then
this item should be a great choice for you.
