You will absolutely find ways to use this to complement many of your standard routines. If you like
the idea, you will not be disappointed. But of course, nothing is perfect, and The Button is no
exception. First, the electronics choices are befuddling and annoying. The unit has to be switched
off by hand with a tiny switch that cannot be conveniently accessed. You have to take the whole
thing apart to turn the unit off, which must be done after every set (it can stay on for about a
day). It cannot be left on, even if the sound is disabled with the remote. Better solutions would
have included an accessible on/off switch and/or an auto-off timer. Secondly, I find rechargeable
batteries to be quite annoying in this context. A large, replaceable watch battery would have been
far more convenient. I’m tired of recharging my tech magic. Lithium ion batteries require way too
much babying and are only convenient for products that get daily use.
Gripes aside, I will
absolutely use this, and it is still a five-star product.
I really appreciate the review and the criticism. I will tell you that I had some very tough decisions to make to keep the button under $100 and ultimately those decisions that we had to make might make it a little frustrating when turning it on and off. You could have it last for up to 75 hours in my testing. I personally don’t find taking it apart too hard. Which is ultimately why we decided to keep the price down and keep it that way. But it was either gonna be $150-$200 button or under 100 and we really wanted it under 100 dollars so more people can enjoy it. I hope that makes sense and I do really appreciate your review. 100% if there’s ever a version 2.0, it would be more expensive but one of the major things would be charging on the outside and a switch on the outside obviously the spectator wouldn’t see those. I learned a lot in the development of this with Joao. How has a consumer I want certain things but now I realize that it adds up very quick. Like I said it was hard making those decisions. In the end though I do still feel like I made the correct decisions. I stand behind them. Thanks again. Stay tuned :)
