What a shame. I have all the DVDs on they Slydini silks and this one was the most diappointing.
I was excited that I was going to watch a DVD presented by Clark and man that is studied
with the master.
I did on story, one insight on this routine.
First the DVD is a very
odd set up. It appears to be taken from a different DVD. there is no welcome message or mention by
Clark about Slydini.
Second the instruction is as bare bones as you can get. It is
brought down to the very basics and there is no explaination as to why you are doing what you are
doing and why Slydini did what he did.
Thrid - while there are 3 angles this his shot in (front
view, rear view and a waste of space split view) a few times the hands are obscuring what he is
describing.
Fourth, There is not discussion on the fine points, nothign is discussed about the
meat of it. I would say the Bill Malone version will teach you better.
Fifth- I thought the
included "silks" were supposed to be a level up from other nylon hankerchiefs. The silks included
seemed to be the same as the Magic Makers silks for half the cost as what Clark sells them for. If
you already have those you might pass on this DVD.
So overall I was disappointed that I did
not learn any fine points as one would assume you would learn from someone who actually "studied"
with Slydini.
Penguin has a good price but still I would say go with
I kept this rating
at 3 because the rabbit knot explaination was included as well as a alternate handling in the
bonous section.
Get the WGM DVD and start there with some Magic Maker Silks.
BTW the
hidden "easter egg" is not worth looking for.
