I understand why a number of people are giving this less than stellar reviews, but I think that the
expectations should be set before purchasing this.
1. This is pure sleight of hand with
cards.
2. This is a collection of moves, not ready made routines.
3. This is all about flash
and a display of skill.
4. These moves are not easy.
Techint is best described as a
very interesting blend of Cardistry and magic. You learn a variety of very interesting displays,
controls, reveals, and color changes. I can tell you now that both the Spinal and Marshal lift are
going into my day to day repertoire of moves. There is a huge emphasis on fluidity and over
displays of skill, which will understandably turn off some magicians. However if you are a card guy
who leans heavy into cardistry and is looking to supplement your current effects with something that
looks a little more stylish that usual Techint is for you.
This is not for beginners. This
is not for people who want a hands off approach. This is for move monkeys, and the teaching style
reflects that. Slow motion over the shoulder shots that freeze frame and highlight finger positions
is the method of teaching straight out of the cardistry world.
For what it is this is a
fantastic DVD well worth it, especially since it is beautifully shot with excellent backing music.
This is pure eye candy for mechanics that love to flourish.
