this is golden! worth every penny! and get refills, you will need them!
for the longest time, when anyone asked me to do a trick when i tell them i'm a magician, I've not had anything on me to do--and working out some impromptu effect was never my forte. Masterpiece is one brilliant effect that i will have on me from now on and i will use all the time!
There is nothing more magical than having just one card in play and fully visible at all times to predict the spectator's one thought-of card. Rick MichelangeLAX has outdone himself this time! despite what he says in the training video, this is his masterpiece!

Exactly my thoughts! It appears to be a 'gimmicked card' that is torn to pieces 'after' the audience names a selection, and only one piece is handed out to them?? and I believe a suit is not named, just a number from 1-10??..

But what reason do you give them why you rip the card into pieces??

Obviously you tear a card. How many come with the trick and can you get replacements?

You get a deck of 56 cards 4 which are in gimmicked and 52 gimmicked cards so you get 52 performances before you need to buy refills.

What do the refills cost?
And when are just the refills available?
And what is the reason given for keeping 3/4 of the card?

I see no reason for ripping the card. Then you can't show them the rest of the card I assume.

reviewing some comments: why rip the card? Rick covers that in the instructions.
if you don't want to rip the card, then this is not the trick you're looking for.
can you show the rest of the card--well....(long pause) yes you can show torn pieces (and that's also covered in the instructions).
refills; not sure but I'd say it's just a matter of buying another deck.
there are NO sleights.
the spectator CAN pick any number "between" 1 and 10. number and suit are separate selections

so if I can show all torn pieces as you stated ..all the pieces both sides will match the card they picked ..I think...........but I may be wrong

It seems as though everyone just keeps glossing over the fact that the card is torn up even though you apparently guessed the card correctly!....that being the case, why in the world would you tear the damn thing up? That, to me is like a death blow to this otherwise clever trick. I love the stuff that Lax puts out there and I have several of his effects. This one....not to sure. Someone, please give me a good reason to get this!

The video only shows the end of the performances.
What isn't shown is the equivoque to get to the 'chosen' card along with the exposure of the initial single card which is wrong/different from the spectator choice. Yes, initially, the magi is wrong ;-)
That's one of the layers of the trick.
The magic occurs when, even tho the single card shown earlier in the trick did NOT match the spectator's choice, the torn pip in their hand now has changed to their chosen card...ta da.
As Rick mentioned, similar to Tornado, but with one card.
You only get 26 gaff cards (free flat pack shipping).
Refills should be available 'any day now'. This comment was written on Nov 18th. So, any day after Nov 18th!
I can understand why everyone questions the tearing of the card based on the video.
However, it is explained very clearly by Rick and is integral to the trick.
I'd recommend it...
Best wishes...

For all you 2nd guessing just get it. I have this trick he even explains the questions you ask about giving just a piece he shows how to present the fully turned card if asked. No one ever does ask. Remember it is the presentation that makes any trick.
