I approached this wanting to like it. Dan Harlan gives charismatic performances. That said I felt the performance had the hands looking busy in ways that indicated something was going on. Also the performance had 2 obvious tells to it that would have me not performing it.

I agree, kind of. I know the exact moves that you are referring to. Yes, there are a couple of weak points here, if you can call them that. I think you may be suffering from an ailment that only affects magicians. It's called "M.E.". It stands for "Magicians Eyes". I get it all the time! It's the in-ability to see a trick in the same way that a layman might view it! I really don't think the moves that you are referring to will be picked up by a lay audience. I mean..do you want a REAL tear...or a fake. A real tear requires a move to enable the tear and a move to clean up. Everyone is familiar with the lady split in half on stage. Consider all those mechanics. Here lift... display... tear... display...restored. Got better...I;m from the SHOW ME state. Enjoy.
