Don't be fooled by the hype. This isn't what it's cracked up to be. From the ad blurb and the list
of testimonials, you would think this was the greatest thing in mentalism to be introduced in the
last century. It isn't.
You cannot ask spectators to think of ANY drawing and expect this
to work -- even if you ask them to keep the drawing simple. There's a limitation I can't discuss
because it would reveal the method. I've tried this on several occasions and each time it failed, as
I knew it would, but I wanted to prove it to myself.
I see from other reviews that some
performers are very happy with this. More power to them. But for my money, Mr. Bilek should have
stayed with coin magic.
You tried this on several occasions ,yet you knew it wouldn't work , is probably the reason it didn't work for you . If you tackle just about anything expecting to fail you most likely will , subtle unconscious cues unknowingly will give you away everytime …
I agree, a lot of modern mentalism takes faith to pull off and more faith to get the maximum impact. Read Jermay's books tho understand that concept further. Thou have to believe that it will work and you have to act like what you are doing is real. It takes a lot of acting, but mentalism is very theatrical and acting is the key skill to pull it off. Modern mentalism even more so
its a hard trick it takes a lot of practice and you will fail a lot. I only hit about half the time but I am getting better at it. I have friends who can do it 100 percent of the time. although they cant think of any object it feels like they can which is all that matters. also confidence matters with stuff like this
