Chapter 11 of The Chaos Project with Dani DaOrtiz features an awe-inspiring multiple-card revelation in which the deck is shuffled so frequently that true magic is the only explanation. Welcome to The Chaos Project with Dani DaOrtiz.

The What
This incredible multiple-card location starts with a deck being borrowed from the audience. The deck is shuffled by the audience, and then one spectator thinks of a number and secretly shares that number with the rest of the audience. The magician shows the spectator cards one by one, and they remember the card at their secret number. The magician then shuffles and cuts the deck before handing the deck back to the spectator. The second spectator remembers the card located at the secret number. The deck is shuffled and given to a third spectator who cuts to the middle of the deck and remembers a card there. The deck is then divided among all the spectators and thoroughly mixed and shuffled. The magician then tosses groups of cards onto the table while the first two spectators randomly call stop. The cards they stop at are removed from the deck. The last spectator takes the deck under the table, removes a single card from it, and puts that card on the table. Impossibly, despite the chaos, all three spectators merely thought of cards are found.

The How
As soon as you see the trick, Dani dives right into the explanation of the core mechanics of the trick so you can start practicing right away. You’ll learn about the clever use of the General Card principle and how it can be used to create miracles out of chaos. This fantastic principle is perfect for borrowed shuffled deck effects like this one.

The Why
In The Why, Dani shares with you the true secrets of chaos. Not only do you get an in-depth look at how the effect works, but you also get a masterclass on the theories and thought processes that make this effect so impossible. Dani takes you through the principles of Dual Reality and using the Funnel Concept to concentrate your magic on the miracle. These concepts allow you to control the apparently random actions of your spectators to perform this incredible trick and level up your magic.

The Chaos Project is a year-long course in learning some of the most devious methods and principles that make the magic of Dani DaOrtiz so deceptive. The eleventh lesson teaches you how to concentrate your magic on the miracle so that it has maximum impact. Embrace the chaos with Dani DaOrtiz in Chapter 11 of The Chaos Project.

This effect is technically easy to do. If you can do an overhand shuffle and overhand shuffle control (OSC), you can do this trick. In fact, Dani doesn't actually use a traditional (OSC) so you don't even really need that. There are no real sleights required.

It does however require some good audience management and the only way to get good at this effect is to do it for live audiences. So you will have to learn the sequence, and then just go out and do it. Note that you MUST have at least 3 spectators to get it to the level of miracle he shows.

This effect performs exactly as he shows in the demo. It doesn't seem possible that the last spectator shuffles the deck, selects a card, and it turns out that it is in fact his own card. But that is precisely what happens. This is a real miracle. I think it is one of the best in this series.

OK, so last month I took a beating from my buddies because I knew before I was told. This month, I caught one part, but I have to say, the last card revealed floored me, and I love being fooled, even more after Dani explained it, and I was still floored. I love this guy, a living legend who is so young. I can't wait to see what's next. I love this guy and am so proud for him. If you have not bought this yet, buy it; you will love it.

Spectator Finds His Card by Dani DaOrtiz. First, the cons - you need 3 spectators to make this trick work, so there are some performance limitations in that. Also, this trick is not as bullet-proof as some of Dani's other tricks; you need some personality to ensure it goes well. Not to give a spoiler, but there is one part where one spectator might reasonably ask to see the card another spectator drew, and this would ruin the trick. The pros, though, are it's easy to perform, and definitely will "wow" your spectators. The fact that they are doing most of the work really gets them involved, and the final "reveal" is so simple yet clever it will most certainly cause eyes to widen and jaws to drop. Also, as always, Dani does a fantastic job teaching the trick, not just explaining WHAT you do but WHY you are doing it. Good stuff!
