Imagine being able to read a thought in a glass of water -- or even your friend’s glass of beer!

CONTACT is an electronic sensor, custom designed by Christopher Taylor for Penguin, that is easily concealed in a card box. The sensor monitors what is in front of it (a glass of liquid, stack of playing cards, or other object) and sends a signal to the performer when the object is touched.

How is it applied? Well, with your back turned to a spectator, you recite the months of the year and when she hears the month she was born in, your spectator touches the surface of the water. Now you turn around and read her mind in the water.

You'll instantly know:
• Which shape has been drawn on the water
• Whether a red or black card was picked up
• which object has been chosen

I would suggest combining this with the Webber Wallet for a truly amazing effect. Here is the review I wrote for the Webber Wallet, which also applies to Contact:

This is a great wallet, although a bit expensive. For a truly amazing routine I would suggest combining it with Christopher Taylor's "Contact". First do the Contact routine where, with your back turned, you know the card the spectator has merely thought of. Quite a mind blowing effect by itself, however you are making it even more amazing by after putting the deck you had on the table for Contact, you take it out again as an afterthought. then you take out your Webber wallet. Take out all the bills you have in the wallet, add the total denomination of the bills. Then have the spectator count down to that number in the deck. The card at that number is the card that he thought of in Contact. In my opinion this makes this one of the greatest routines I have every seen.

I purchased this item on a bit of a whim (dont usually spend this sort of money on whim) as it did not fit my current show but 'might' be handy later. Well am I glad I did. I've had it sitting around for a long time but now I'm building a new show and this will fit in just superbly. The build quality is great and the feedback is instant - So smart.

The supplied routines are great and the gimmick is fairly simple to use. It allows for a whole lot of theatre to play around the actual event. So pleased I bought it.
